FamilyMart Introduces Hearty Autumn Menus with Rich Flavors!

FamilyMart Introduces New Seasonal Comfort Foods

As the leaves turn and temperatures drop, FamilyMart is responding to the changing season by launching a range of warm, hearty dishes that are sure to satisfy the palate. Starting from October 21, 2025, the convenience store chain will unveil six varieties of rich soups, gratins, and doria through its private brand, Famimal KITCHEN. These offerings include a creamy clam chowder, a deep-flavored tomato cream soup, a decadently cheesy mac and cheese gratin, and a robust chicken and sweet potato gratin, among others, each priced affordably around 460 to 550 yen (tax included).

The Comfort of Warmth During Chilly Months

As winter approaches, the sales of warm meals such as soups and gratins typically experience a noticeable increase. In fact, FamilyMart reports that sales have surged to approximately 150% compared to similar months last year. As cold weather cravings rise, the convenience store is stepping in with flavorful, satisfying offerings designed to warm both the heart and body.

The soup lineup includes two enticing options. First up is the Rich Seafood Flavor Clam Chowder, which packs a punch with full-bodied clam flavor blended into a creamy base. This dish features a delightful mix of clams, potatoes, vegetables, and shell macaroni, creating a comforting and hearty meal. The second option, Deep Tomato Cream Soup, blends the richness of milk and cream with the tanginess of tomatoes, accented by a hint of chicken flavor for a more complex taste. This soup is also presented with pasta for an extra dose of satisfaction.

The gratin offerings promise to please cheese lovers and comfort food enthusiasts alike. Rich Cheese Sauce Mac and Cheese Gratin combines the salty, umami flavors of cheddar cheese and macaroni, ensuring a cheesy experience in every bite. Meanwhile, the Hearty Chicken and Sweet Potato Cream Gratin brings together a creamy, herb-infused sauce with chunks of tender chicken and sweet potatoes, offering both texture and flavor.

Exploring Consumer Preferences for Winter Comfort Foods

Through a recent survey of Famipay members, FamilyMart has uncovered valuable insights into consumer habits surrounding winter comfort foods. The research reveals that soups are often sought for their soothing qualities, especially during cold winter days, with 70.5% of respondents indicating this is when they crave a warm bowl. In contrast, gratins and doria are perceived more as a treat to enjoy during moments of happiness, cited by 51.1% of participants as their reason for indulging in these rich dishes.

Conducted between September 19 and 25, 2025, the online survey collected responses from customers who purchased soups or gratins from FamilyMart between October 2024 and February 2025. The findings suggest an intentional distinction in consumer motivations, highlighting the heartwarming role of soups versus the celebratory nature of gratins and doria.

Special Offers for Famipay Members

In an effort to further enhance the experience, FamilyMart will distribute 80 yen discounts for soups, gratins, and doria through the Famipay app. This coupon will be available starting October 21, 2025, and can be used until November 3, 2025, on a variety of qualifying products.
