The Edo-Tokyo Museum is set to reopen its doors in March 2026 after undergoing extensive renovations. In the meantime, a unique collaboration with Cluster Inc. has been announced, bringing a revamped virtual experience through the platform's ‘Virtual Edo-Tokyo’ space. Launching at 3 PM on December 18, 2025, this limited-time treasure hunt invites participants to explore the stylish world of Edo, embellished with elements inspired by cherished artifacts from the museum's collection.
Discover Edo Culture Through a Treasure Hunt
The highlight of this virtual offering is a treasure hunt themed around ‘Edo Fashion.’ Players will embark on an adventurous quest to find hidden items drawn directly from the significant collection of the Edo-Tokyo Museum. This engaging activity allows participants of all ages and backgrounds to enjoy learning about the rich culture and lifestyle of Edo-period residents in a fun and interactive manner.
Completing additional quests in this treasure hunt will earn players an exclusive accessory - the ‘EDO Kabuto Accessory’ which can be adorned by their avatars in the virtual world!
Additionally, a limited-time survey will be conducted, and participants who provide their input will also receive the original ‘EDO Inro Accessory,’ making this an even more rewarding experience.
