Rediscover the Flavors of Fukushima!
This summer, from July 1 to July 31,
Tokyu Excel Hotel Futako Tamagawa will celebrate the culinary delights of Fukushima with a special event called
'Discover Fukushima' held in the stunning
30th Dining Bar. This marks the 10th edition of this popular event, inviting guests to indulge in a variety of dishes made with fresh ingredients sourced from Fukushima Prefecture.
The highlight of the event is the
Fukushima Gozen, a carefully curated meal designed to cater to all tastes, whether you are looking for a hearty meal or light fare to accompany drinks. Local producer support is at the heart of this initiative, organized in partnership with
Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings, to help highlight the delicious offerings from Fukushima to a wider audience.
Main Dish: Fukushima Gozen
At the center of this culinary experience is the
Fukushima Prefecture's Hayama Kogen Pork Kakuni. This pork belly dish is braised to perfection, allowing the sweet, savory flavors to melt in your mouth. Accompanied by a perfectly soft-boiled egg, which absorbs the rich flavors of the sauce, it's an experience in taste. Guests will definitely want to heap this deliciousness onto
Fukushima-grown 'Fuku, Wara' katsuobushi rice, drenching every bite with the fragrant braising liquid. Alongside this delightful main dish, you'll find
dry-fried Mehikiri and
sanma (Pacific saury) seasoned with ankake—perfect companions for a chilled glass of sake.
To celebrate the event's 10th anniversary, a special deal will grant guests ordering the Fukushima Gozen the option to enjoy a draft beer for only 100 yen during the event.
Summer Special: Octopus and Egg Noodles
Channeling the essence of summer, the menu also includes a bright and vibrant
Fukushima Octopus and Egg Somen dish. The golden egg noodles, with their smooth and refreshing finish, promise to cool down the heat of summer while contrasting beautifully with the chewy texture of the octopus.
Emphasizing a light, refreshing meal, guests can also indulge in a delightful dessert that rounds out the dining experience and captures the seasonal aesthetics of Fukushima's summer produce.
Dessert: Almond Mousse and Peach Compote
The
Almond Mousse with Fukushima Peach Compote serves as a stunning dessert, designed to be enjoyed during tea or dinner. The dessert features tender peaches cooked in a way that retains their crunch, adorned with a raspberry sauce that adds visual appeal and flavor. The dessert showcases the
'Hanamizuki' (Flowering Dogwood) that symbolizes the hotel, reflected through the striking pink and white wine jellies, promising a harmony of aromas and textures.
During the event, guests who sample the two featured dishes and complete a short mobile survey will receive a complimentary
'Fuku, Wara' Cubed Rice pack, while supplies last. What better way to enjoy the stunning views from the 30th floor, reflecting on the seasonal delights of Fukushima?
