Elabscience® Launches PolyHRP-Streptavidin Conjugate for Enhanced Biomarker Detection
Elabscience® Bionovation Inc. has just announced a significant advancement in biomarker detection with the launch of its self-developed PolyHRP-Streptavidin conjugate. This innovative signal amplification reagent is tailored for enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA), primarily focused on low-abundance biomarkers. Given the challenges researchers face in detecting minimal biomarker concentrations, the PolyHRP-Streptavidin conjugate aims to drastically improve detection sensitivity.
The Challenge of Low-Abundance Biomarkers
In the realm of biomedical research, detecting low-abundance biomarkers has always posed a notable challenge. Often, increasing signal output can inadvertently elevate background noise, complicating results. To tackle this issue, Elabscience® has engineered a solution based on its proprietary covalent polymerization technology. This technology results in a unique one-to-many amplification structure, which significantly boosts detection signals while keeping background interference at bay.
Superior Sensitivity and Stability
The newly developed PolyHRP-Streptavidin conjugate stands out against competitor products due to its exceptional sensitivity and stability. Elabscience® initiated its development focusing on improving ELISA performance. The conjugate begins with the polymerization of numerous highly active horseradish peroxidase (HRP) enzymes to create a PolyHRP backbone, which is subsequently conjugated to streptavidin. The end result is a robust enzyme-to-protein ratio, enabling a cascade signal amplification effect that can greatly enhance assay sensitivity.
Dr. Yang Fei, the General Manager of Elabscience®, highlighted the importance of both sensitivity and stability in ELISA reagent development. He stated, "When researchers work with low-abundance targets, having a reliable signal amplification tool is paramount. Our PolyHRP-Streptavidin conjugate is designed explicitly for this purpose, ensuring improved detection performance, low background interference, and sustained stability over time."
Validation and Testing Data
Validation studies conducted by Elabscience® underscore the high performance of the PolyHRP-Streptavidin conjugate. Analyzing three independent batches via Size Exclusion Chromatography-High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (SEC-HPLC) revealed an impressive recovery rate of nearly 90%, coupled with a peak area coefficient of variation of just 2.9%. This indicates a remarkable consistency across batches. In addition to this, the nanoparticle tracking analysis demonstrated a narrow particle size distribution centered at approximately 155 nm, further supporting the uniformity of the PolyHRP-Streptavidin polymer structure.
Internal testing has also proven that the PolyHRP-Streptavidin conjugate generates strong signal intensity while minimizing background signals. Accelerated stability tests at 37°C indicated that over 90% of the activity remains intact after 11 days, showcasing the reagent’s robust stability in high-temperature conditions.
Compatibility and Availability
The PolyHRP-Streptavidin conjugate is compatible with various ELISA workflows, including standard, high-sensitivity, and competitive assays. It is now introduced under Catalog No. E-ELIR-020, available in trial sizes of 50 μL and standard formats of 250 μL, with provisions for custom volumes exceeding 1 mL. The product is stored at -20°C with a two-year shelf life. Elabscience® also plans to launch a ready-to-use PolyHRP-Streptavidin detection reagent to further enhance the ease of implementation in routine and high-throughput ELISA applications.
