Special Edition Inquiry-Based Learning Seminar
Join us for an engaging online seminar hosted by leading companies in inquiry-based learning, Study Valley and Surala Net, on November 28, 2025. This special edition targets middle and high school educators seeking effective ways to enhance the quality of inquiry-based learning in their classrooms.
Background to the Event
With the increasing implementation of inquiry-based learning, educators face challenges such as encouraging deeper questions from students and integrating subject learning effectively. Recognizing these hurdles, our seminar aims to provide practical insights and collaborative strategies for overcoming them, emphasizing the importance of external partnerships in the learning process.
In collaboration with Surala Net, which offers the “Surala My Story” program to assist students in discovering their inquiry topics, we will feature practical examples from two progressive educational institutions supported by Study Valley and Surala Net’s initiatives.

Topic: “Inquiry Deepens through Cross-Disciplinary Learning: Diverse Learning Transformations”
Speaker: Makoto Nagamine, Director of the Administrative Department at Sendai Ikuei Gakuen Okinawa High School
In this segment, Mr. Nagamine will showcase specific instances of how inquiry-based learning can be integrated with subject studies. He will highlight the changes observed in student learning through cross-disciplinary initiatives.

Topic: “Creating Questions: The Fastest Route to Discovering Inquiry Themes with My Story”
Speaker: Makoto Takahashi, Director of the Administrative Department and SEIZAN Mirai Project Bureau at Seizan High School
Mr. Takahashi will discuss effective lesson designs that support students struggling at the initial stages of inquiry. He will delve into key points for guiding students from question creation to theme finalization.
