Electrify America Partners with Royal Farms for Fast EV Charging in Maryland
In an exciting development for electric vehicle (EV) users in Maryland,
Electrify America has teamed up with
Royal Farms to expand access to Hyper-Fast charging stations. This partnership aims to provide convenience and speed, enabling drivers to recharge their vehicles quickly and efficiently at locations they are familiar with. The initiative has introduced over 55 individual Hyper-Fast chargers across eight designated Royal Farms sites, marking a significant step forward in the availability of electric vehicle infrastructure in the state.
Rapid Charging Technology
The new charging stations installed at Royal Farms locations utilize advanced Hyper-Fast technology, allowing EVs to charge at astonishing speeds of up to
350 kW. This means that compatible vehicles can gain a significant amount of charge in just 20 minutes, making it ideal for drivers on the go. The first stations are already operational in
Halethorpe and
Oxon Hill, with plans for additional locations including
Annapolis,
Catonsville,
Charlotte Hall,
Columbia,
Pikesville, and
Towson. As a result, the integration of these chargers into Electrify America’s extensive network of over 1,000 stations and 5,000 chargers nationwide symbolizes a commitment to enhancing EV accessibility.
Enhancing the Charging Experience
Anthony Lambkin, the Vice President of Operations at Electrify America, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, "Our collaboration with Royal Farms brings Hyper-Fast charging to the places drivers already know and visit regularly." The convenience of charging at familiar locations, coupled with the availability of fresh food and beverages, will undoubtedly enrich the EV experience. As more individuals make the switch to electric vehicles, having reliable and fast charging options is essential, especially for consumers balancing convenience with speed during daily commutes or longer journeys.
Commitment to Community Innovation
Thomas Ruszin, a leader in environmental fuel operations at Royal Farms, emphasized the company’s dedication to adapting to evolving community needs. The addition of high-speed EV charging not only addresses drivers’ needs but also reinforces Royal Farms' commitment to sustainability and accessibility in the modern retail landscape. "These new stations make it easier for drivers to choose electric without sacrificing speed or comfort, while reinforcing our commitment to accessibility and progress," Ruszin remarked, underscoring the importance of innovation in community-focused services.
User-Friendly Payment Options
To simplify the charging process, customers can pay with credit or debit cards, or use
PlugCharge payment technology for compatible vehicles via Electrify America's mobile app. The app offers dynamic features such as locating chargers, viewing pricing, starting a charge, and monitoring charging progress, providing a seamless experience for users.
