Tokyo Shutters Group Exhibition 'Fragments'
A creative collective known as 'Tokyo Shutters' will present their group exhibition titled 'Fragments' at the Basement Gallery of Shinjuku's Kitamura Camera from October 24 to October 29, 2025. This artistic showcase features eight talented individuals from various domains, such as photographers, models, designers, and video directors, all coming together to present their interpretation of the theme 'Fragments'. Their works will be displayed simultaneously in one location, offering a unique opportunity to appreciate diverse artistic expressions through the common medium of photography.
The Theme: 'Fragments'
Tokyo Shutters primarily operates on YouTube and consists of eight creative members. Their video content highlights high-concept photography projects featuring models as well as candid street photography around Tokyo, incorporating gear demonstrations and sharing shooting techniques. Furthermore, they provide valuable insights for camera enthusiasts, ranging from tips for beginners to in-depth reviews of professional gear and considerations for purchasing used cameras. The content aims to appeal to a wide audience, connecting with both novices and seasoned photographers alike.
During this exhibition, visitors will have the chance to view each member's photographic works displayed collectively. Even though all artists utilize photography as their medium, the exhibition promises varied perspectives, demonstrating the unique artistic voices within Tokyo Shutters.
Statement from Tokyo Shutters on the Exhibition
"In an age where a finger on a device can capture the world, where a single day can be recorded in its entirety, we find fascination in the imperfection of photography. Even with the freedom to document hours at length, we remain captivated by fleeting moments in our lives. Peering through the viewfinder, aligning our breaths, and gently pressing the shutter, the fragments of our chosen world unfold before us. It is through photography that we encounter fleeting moments and connect with our fellow beings. What shapes will these overlapping fragments take?"
