Tokyo City Transportation Monitor Program Seeks 450 Participants for 2023

Join the 2023 Tokyo Transportation Monitor Program



The Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Transportation is excited to announce the opening of applications for its 2023 Urban Transport Monitor Program. This initiative, launched in 2006, aims to collect valuable feedback from passengers to improve transportation services in Tokyo, which includes the subway, buses, and trams.

Recruitment Details


This year, we are looking for 450 participants from among our valued users of the Tokyo Subway, Toei Bus, Tokyo Sakura Tram, and Nippori-Toneri Liner. This is a fantastic opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions about service quality related to personnel, facilities, and train environments. Application Period


Applications will be accepted from July 10 to July 23, 2023. Please ensure you submit your application within this timeframe.

Selection Process


The selection will be conducted if we receive more applications than we can accommodate. Applicants will be notified of the results via email around mid-September 2023.

Eligibility Requirements


To participate, applicants must meet the following criteria:
1. Residents, Workers, or Students in Tokyo: Must either live, work, or study in Tokyo.
2. Age Requirement: Must be at least 16 years old as of July 1, 2023.
3. Frequent Users: Regular usage of urban transport services.
4. Internet Connectivity: Access to the internet using a personal computer or device.
5. Email Access: Must have a personal email address.
6. Language Proficiency: Ability to read and communicate in Japanese, including navigating websites and sending emails. Foreign nationals are also welcome to apply.

Note: Only one application per household is allowed, and employees and their families from the Bureau are not eligible.

Activity Timeline


Participants will engage in activities from late September 2023 to the end of March 2024. These activities may include internet surveys and group interviews on specific themes to gather comprehensive feedback about the services provided.

Incentives


As a token of appreciation, participants will receive six one-day discount tickets for the use of Tokyo's public transportation.
