Lifenet Seimei Insurance Co., Ltd. has announced the renewal of its sponsorship agreement with Kokugakuin University's track and field team, which will take effect from January 1, 2026. This partnership, originally established on December 1, 2024, reflects Lifenet's commitment to supporting the team's athletic ambitions in a changing landscape.

Background of the Sponsorship

Established in 2008, Lifenet Seimei has positioned itself as a leader in online life insurance, challenging the traditional face-to-face sales culture prevalent in the industry. Kokugakuin University's track and field team achieved significant milestones, winning both the Izumo Ekiden and the All-Japan University Ekiden Championships in 2024. Shortly after the startup of the partnership, they also secured a third-place finish in the prestigious 101st Hakone Ekiden in January 2025, solidifying their reputation as a formidable force in university track competitions.

For the 2025 fiscal year, the team adopted the slogan "Habachikasu - Inheriting Thoughts and Innovating" as they strive for their ultimate goal: winning the overall title in the Hakone Ekiden. The term "Habachikasu" is derived from the local dialect of Okinawa, meaning "to elevate one's reputation." The team is dedicated to honoring its history while innovating in a way that showcases its unique identity. Their commitment was recently validated through victories at the Izumo Ekiden in October and a commendable fourth place at the All-Japan University Ekiden in November.
