Impact of Scientology Volunteer Ministers in the Philippines: A Comprehensive Training Initiative

Scientology Volunteer Ministers Transforming Lives in the Philippines

In a remarkable initiative, the Scientology Volunteer Ministers (SVM) Goodwill Tour has launched a substantial training effort across the Philippines since its arrival in July 2026. This program, focusing on equipping first responders and educators with essential skills, aims to enhance disaster response effectiveness and educational practices within local communities.

Overview of the Mission

The tour has successfully trained over 360 individuals, impacting more than 500 lives through one-on-one assistance. This outreach extends from Manila to Davao City, targeting police officers, firefighters, correctional officers, teachers, and community leaders who play crucial roles in their respective regions. The volunteer program seeks not only to improve immediate disaster response but also to foster long-term educational advancements.

Key Training Sessions

One of the program's highlights occurred at Sindaton Elementary School, located just outside Davao City. On October 28, the team conducted a two-and-a-half-hour seminar on Study Technology, which is based on principles elucidated by Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard. During this seminar, 15 teachers learned how to identify and overcome barriers to effective learning, allowing them to better assist their students in understanding course materials.

In addition to education, the training addressed critical disaster response techniques. On August 6, officers of the Philippine National Police participated in a seminar designed to equip them with the skills necessary to handle emergencies gracefully and effectively. These sessions focused on healing methods that help individuals recover from the physical and emotional toll of trauma, a skill deemed vital for law enforcement professionals.

Community Empowerment

The initiative reached not only the urban centers but also focused on community engagement in Mindanao. A full-day seminar was delivered for the Davao City Deputy Mayors Council and Muslim Affairs office, attracting participants from both the Moro and Davao indigenous communities. Each attendee was encouraged to disseminate the training back to their communities, enhancing the ripple effect of this outreach.

Further, the program has provided specialized training to correctional officers and firefighters, including a notable session for the Davao Bureau of Fire Protection. These trainings are designed to strengthen the capabilities of these key community figures in times of crisis.

The Continuing Journey

As of early October, the tour had conducted 11 seminars with a total of 337 attendees and performed over 1,300 assists. Each training is designed to empower individuals, enabling them to act as first responders in their communities. Damian, a leader of the Volunteer Ministers Goodwill Tour, emphasizes the fundamental goal: for every officer, teacher, and firefighter trained to become a beacon of hope and support during emergencies.

The Goodwill Tour continues its mission in Mindanao, with an unwavering commitment to provide ongoing support and training. Those interested in learning more about the Volunteer Ministers and their impactful work can find further information at volunteerministers.org.
