i-PRO Introduces Cutting-Edge Generative AI Network Camera

At the ISC West 2026, taking place from March 23 to 27 in Las Vegas, i-PRO Co., Ltd., headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, showcased its first network camera featuring generative AI processing directly on the device. This innovative technology allows real-time detection through free-text input without relying on cloud services or external servers.

The newly launched network camera belongs to the i-PRO X Series, designed to capture images in a full 360-degree view. It is powered by the Ambarella CV72 AI vision System-on-Chip (SoC), which serves as the generative AI engine. All detection processes and feature extraction occur within the camera itself, enabling real-time event recognition based on instructions provided in free text, such as "a person lying down."

Further enhancing its functionality, the camera adopts an open platform compatible with Docker containers. This setup allows users to run proprietary or third-party AI applications directly on the camera, tailoring its capabilities to specific needs.

On the security front, i-PRO has integrated several features to ensure high safety standards, including Secure Boot, signed firmware, and compliance with FIPS 140-3 Level 3. These advanced security measures cater to applications where high security is paramount, making this camera suitable for a wide range of environments.

In addition, the camera supports free-text search for recorded footage in collaboration with multi-AI software and monitoring solutions. Video data management is conducted in an on-premises environment, enhancing data privacy and control for users.

In 2025, i-PRO implemented generative AI for post-analysis free-text video searches. The introduction of this new camera marks a significant step forward in i-PRO's edge AI strategy, expanding the use of generative AI beyond post-analysis to real-time detection capabilities.

The X Series network camera is set to be released globally starting in June 2026, with plans for its launch in Japan later this year.
