Winter Fundraising Campaign 2025

Piccolare, a certified NPO based in Toshima, Tokyo, is launching an important fundraising initiative aimed at supporting isolated pregnant women during the year-end and New Year season. Running from November 20 to December 26, 2025, this campaign is titled "A Society Where Pregnant Women Are Connected – The 'Pregnancy SOS' Doesn't Stop During Year-End and New Year".

The Reality of Child Abuse

Tragically, many children suffer from abuse, with newborns being the most vulnerable. According to a recent report by the Child Family Committee’s Expert Group on Child Abuse Prevention, out of 48 children who died due to abuse in the fiscal year 2025, 33 were infants less than a year old, with 16 dying on the same day they were born. Piccolare has taken proactive measures since its establishment in December 2015, with services like "Ninshin SOS Tokyo" providing a confidential support line for unexpected pregnancies. Despite years of continuous support, the challenge of isolation for pregnant women persists.

Increased Importance of Support During Year-End

The holiday season is a time filled with family joy for many; however, it can intensify feelings of isolation for pregnant women, especially those unable to seek help. During this season, public health services frequently take extended breaks, making it increasingly difficult for those experiencing pregnancy-related crises to access support.

The Financial Burden of Emergency Support

Providing assistance during the end of the year incurs higher costs due to increased shelter and meal expenses, compounded by limited healthcare access. Pregnant women who need help often find themselves in precarious situations—low on funds, lacking access to communication, or even staying in internet cafes while trying to change their circumstances. Piccolare is committed to offering comprehensive support, including consultations, visits, and safe spaces.

Spreading the Message: "You Are Not Alone"

To extend the reach of support to as many pregnant women as possible, Piccolare calls for widespread donations. Increased awareness can significantly impact those in need. Through sharing information about this campaign, individuals can help broaden the support network for these women. Notably, Piccolare is a recognized partner of the “Donation Month” initiative.
