Nationwide Recall of Zicam and Orajel Baby Swabs
Ewing, N.J., June 6, 2025 – Church & Dwight Co., Inc. has issued a voluntary recall of all lots of Zicam® Cold Remedy Nasal Swabs, Zicam® Nasal AllClear Swabs, and Orajel™ Baby Teething Swabs that are still within their expiry dates. This decision has been made due to the potential for microbial contamination, specifically identified as fungi present in the cotton swab components. The company emphasizes the serious health risks associated with these products, notably for at-risk populations, including young children and individuals with weakened immune systems.
Details of the Recall
The recalled products, distributed broadly across the United States and Puerto Rico, are:

Risk to Consumers
While the actual risk of serious adverse events has not been reported, the potential for microbial presence poses a critical threat to health. Such contamination can lead to severe blood infections, particularly among individuals with compromised nasal mucosa due to inflammation or injury. This situation is especially concerning for children and those with other underlying health conditions.
