Packsize Appoints Troy Rydman as CIO and CISO
In a significant leadership shift, Packsize®, renowned for its environmentally friendly, custom-sized packaging solutions, revealed on April 7, 2025, that it welcomes Troy Rydman as its new Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). Rydman's extensive expertise spans nearly twenty years in cybersecurity, information technology, and risk management across various global sectors such as technology, fintech, healthcare, and professional services.
Rydman's journey to Packsize has seen him don critical roles, including his tenure as a Senior Practice Manager at Amazon Web Services (AWS), where he pioneered a cybersecurity consulting practice to improve security frameworks for numerous Fortune 50 firms. His previous leadership experiences at Silicon Valley Bank and Fast included overseeing global cybersecurity initiatives, ensuring regulatory compliance, and modernizing technology infrastructures.
As Packsize seeks to amplify its digital strategies, Rydman will take charge of the company’s IT and security frameworks. "We are very pleased to welcome Troy to our executive team. His vast experience and proven track record will play a vital role in shaping our technology strategy for the future," stated Packsize CEO David Lockwood.
Under Rydman’s leadership, the focus will evolve towards strengthening the company’s digital infrastructure, maximizing data protection, and enhancing system resilience—all essential for supporting Packsize's innovation and expansion in the realm of right-sized packaging solutions.
Rydman expressed enthusiasm about joining Packsize, emphasizing the company's mission to provide sustainable packaging solutions. "My goal is to fortify the digital infrastructure, enhance data protection, and implement innovative IT strategies that will propel Packsize’s growth and make a significant global impact," he remarked.
Packsize's mission encapsulates a commitment to redefining how organizations approach packaging, prioritizing sustainability while reducing waste through on-demand, custom packaging. Established in 2002, the company has emerged as a leader in the sustainable packaging industry across North America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific.
As industries place increasing importance on sustainability, Packsize demonstrates its commitment to transforming the packaging process—from the point of packing to unboxing—while ensuring that its solutions are not only effective but also environmentally friendly.
In his new role, Rydman will spearhead efforts to uphold and enhance Packsize's cybersecurity posture, guarantee compliance with ever-evolving regulations, and identify and deploy frontline technologies that streamline operations. This initiative aligns with a broader trend in industries today, wherein organizations are increasingly recognizing the imperative of robust cybersecurity measures as they innovate and scale.
Packsize stands at the intersection of sustainability and technology, reshaping the future of packaging while addressing wasteful practices in the industry. With Rydman's addition to the team, the company is well-positioned to bolster its technological capabilities and maintain its leadership in the sustainable packaging sector.
