In this capacity, he led advocacy efforts focused on impactful policies affecting patients diagnosed with chronic kidney disease and end-stage renal disease. His remarkable history in the U.S. House of Representatives includes roles such as Deputy Director of Member Services and Outreach Advisor to House Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer, as well as Professional Staff Member on the House Committee on Veterans' Affairs and Legislative Assistant to Congressman Silvestre Reyes.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, Barajas Martínez brings a strong sense of commitment to public service, principled advocacy, and practical approaches to bipartisan engagement.
