SANY Heavy Truck Unveils Electric Truck Series at IAA Transportation 2026

At the IAA Transportation 2026 event in Hannover, SANY Heavy Truck, in collaboration with Putzmeister, made a significant mark by presenting its range of battery-electric commercial vehicles. This exhibition comes under the banner "Here to Stay," underlining SANY's commitment to establishing itself firmly in the European market for sustainable transportation solutions.

One of the noteworthy highlights of SANY's presentation was the launch of the SE636 heavy-duty electric truck. This truck is poised to cater to the evolving needs of the transportation sector in Europe with its state-of-the-art features. Built on a robust 4x2 chassis, it is equipped with a substantial 636 kWh battery system, boasting an impressive declared range of up to 500 kilometers and a tare weight of 10.9 metric tonnes. Notably, the SE636 has achieved Whole Vehicle Type Approval (WVTA) from the EU, making it the first mass-produced heavy-duty electric truck from a Chinese manufacturer to secure this certification. Currently operating in Germany, Turkey, and other European markets, the SE636 stands as a testament to SANY's dedication to innovation in sustainable transport.

During the inaugural press conference, Kevin Eichele, head of product development and business for electric heavy trucks at SANY-Putzmeister, reiterated the company's long-term strategy focused on commercially available, certified vehicles that have been validated through real-world operations and fleet integrations. SANY has already enabled over 70,000 heavy-duty electric trucks to go into service worldwide, and since initiating its operations in Europe in 2022, its electric commercial vehicles have reached 15 European markets, collectively covering more than 20 million kilometers.

To enhance customer experience, SANY set up a two-kilometer test route during the IAA event, allowing logistics operators, fleet customers, and industry media from Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, and other markets to experience the SE636 and other models firsthand. Feedback highlighted the truck's smooth acceleration, regenerative braking performance, and remarkably low cabin noise levels, showcasing SANY's commitment to developing high-performance, user-friendly electric vehicles.

Recognizing the importance of local support for long-term fleet operation, SANY has developed a comprehensive customer service network throughout Europe. Collaborating with established local service partners, SANY offers access to around 650 workshops for routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs, as well as 24/7 roadside assistance. This proactive support aims to ensure the operational availability of their electric trucks while providing specialized technical assistance for complex maintenance needs.

The debut of SANY Heavy Truck at IAA Transportation signifies a crucial step in the company's long-term commitment to Europe, integrating production-ready technology with a strong operational experience and localized service support. As the push for electrification in the transport sector accelerates, SANY is dedicated to expanding its footprint in Europe and driving practical, scalable zero-emission solutions, contributing to a more efficient and sustainable future for commercial transportation.
