Zoomlion to Establish a Smart Factory for Aerial Work Platforms in Hungary

In a significant new development, Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science & Technology Co., Ltd. has revealed plans to create a cutting-edge smart factory in Hungary dedicated to the production of aerial work platforms. This announcement was made public on February 21, 2025, and follows the formal signing of an agreement on February 20, during a press conference led by Hungary's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

The new facility will be strategically located in Tatabánya, which is positioned at the crossroads of major highway networks in Hungary. This prime location is expected to serve as a crucial hub, connecting key logistical routes throughout Eastern and Western Europe. Once completed, the factory aims to enhance Zoomlion's footprint within the competitive European aerial work platform market significantly.

The factory will span around 250 mu (approximately 41.18 acres) and will be a collaborative project between Zoomlion and CTP Group. Equipped with sophisticated, environmentally friendly production technologies, this modern facility will produce a diverse range of high-performance, quality, low-emission aerial work platforms. By utilizing state-of-the-art production processes and machinery, the factory will be ideally positioned to cater to both local and European markets.

One of the most notable aspects of this project is its potential to create approximately 800 local jobs, which is expected to boost economic growth and employment opportunities in the region. Furthermore, it will promote collaboration with local supply chain partners, enhance synergy with local businesses, and actively foster a localized industrial ecosystem through a closely integrated and mutually beneficial partnership approach. This initiative will contribute to the broader economic and social development of Hungary.

In recent years, Zoomlion has been vigorously advancing its global business strategy, adopting a "global village" mentality while focusing on localized operations. The company has established ten research and development, as well as manufacturing bases abroad. Its products are now sold in over 150 countries and regions globally. Notably, more than 50% of Zoomlion's revenue is derived from markets outside of China, reflecting its successful international expansion.

Zhan Chunxin, the President and CEO of Zoomlion, expressed gratitude to all stakeholders involved in supporting this ambitious project. He stated, "We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has backed this initiative. We are committed to accelerating the project’s implementation in line with our investment strategy and aim to have the factory operational by the end of this year." This strategic move not only underscores Zoomlion's commitment to innovation and sustainability but also signals its intent to reinforce its position within the European market and facilitate broader economic benefits within Hungary.

This factory ultimately represents a significant investment in the future of aerial work platforms and exemplifies how global companies can contribute to local economies while advancing manufacturing efficiencies and sustainability practices.
