Taco John's Expands Its Presence on the East Coast with New Boston Location

Taco John's Expands Its Footprint in Boston

Taco John's®, the popular Mexican quick-service restaurant, has officially opened its first metropolitan location in Boston, located at 77 Summer St. This significant move marks a bold expansion into the East Coast food scene, showcasing the brand’s eagerness to introduce its unique culinary offerings to a new audience.

The Boston location is managed by Reliance Hospitality Group, led by experienced operators Arsal Jaffery and Deven Jadav. Together, they signed a development agreement in 2021 which includes plans for 22 additional Taco John's locations in the Boston and Connecticut areas. With nearly a decade of experience in the quick-service industry, Jaffery has operated Wendy's franchises in the Springfield and Hartford regions, giving him invaluable insight into the market dynamics. Meanwhile, Jadav brings over two decades of experience in hotel operations, construction, and management to the table.

The duo opened their first two Taco John's locations in the Lawrence and Leominster communities in 2023, adding bold flavors to these markets. Now, with the new restaurant in Boston, Reliance is not only advancing their agenda but also looking forward to the opening of a fourth location anticipated in the third quarter of 2025. There are additional plans to identify spots for five more venues in the bustling Boston area.

Jaffery expressed enthusiasm about this new venture, stating, "We’re thrilled to bring Taco John's to the heart of Boston and introduce even more guests to our signature bold flavors and quality ingredients." The commitment to establishing Taco John's as a must-visit dining destination reflects the brand's understanding of the rich food culture of Boston, a city known for its vibrant culinary scene.

The economic outlook for New England is promising as reports suggest that the area is projected to generate a whopping $150.8 billion in output in 2025. This makes it an ideal market for Taco John's to move beyond its traditional Midwest roots and connect with customers yearning for distinctive and exciting dining experiences.

Shannon Iverson, Vice President of Development at Taco John's, praised Jaffery and Jadav for their effective approach in bringing Taco John's brand ethos to the East Coast. "Their strategic vision and dedication to providing exceptional customer experiences resonate perfectly with our growth ambitions," she noted. As the brand expands, it utilizes a robust strategy that includes enhancements in onboarding, training, and operations, which are designed to support existing franchise owners and those looking to join the Taco John's community.

As Taco John's eyes its potential expansion from coast to coast, offers like their 'Path to Ownership' structure, alongside an optimized business model, delivers a reliable framework for franchisee support and sustainable growth. The brand's successes are already evident, with nearly 350 outlets across 22 states and innovative moves to enhance profitability and streamline operations.

Recent statistics show that franchises can achieve significant average unit volumes, further enticing prospective operators to consider Taco John's a viable investment opportunity.

Founded in 1969 in Cheyenne, Wyoming, Taco John's has created a niche for itself by delivering bigger, bolder flavors over the years. It has earned a solid reputation in the fast-food space, famed for its signature phrase, “Taco Tuesday,” which keeps fans coming back for more. With iconic menu offerings like Potato Olés®, Taco John's emphasizes quality, freshness, and generosity, setting a high bar for Mexican cuisine in the quick-service sector.

As the brand embarks on this exciting journey in Boston, it stands ready to welcome both locals and visitors to enjoy its distinctive offerings, promising to make a significant mark on the city's dining landscape.
