Dive into Hyogo's Culinary Treasures at Seven-Eleven's Kansai Gourmet Fair
Seven-Eleven Japan, headquartered in Chiyoda, Tokyo, announced the start of the
Kansai Gourmet Fair on
August 19, 2025. This initiative aims to celebrate the rich food culture of the Kansai region and enhance local economies by showcasing
eight carefully curated original products that highlight the culinary treasures of
Hyogo Prefecture.
With a variety of offerings designed to bring out the best of Hyogo's delectable cuisine, the fair invites customers to explore the diverse tastes that the region has to offer. By focusing on local ingredients and traditional recipes, Seven-Eleven hopes to foster local pride and inspire a deeper appreciation for the region's culinary history.
Emphasizing Local Production and Consumption
One of the core commitments of Seven-Eleven is to promote
'local production for local consumption.' By shining a spotlight on the unique culinary traditions of each area and actively sourcing local ingredients, they not only support the producers but also contribute to the regional economy. The
Kansai Gourmet Fair is a testament to this mission, reaffirming the allure of local foods and their connection to the region's identity.
Hyogo Prefecture, blessed with stunning coastlines, mountainous landscapes, and fertile plains, is a treasure trove of agricultural and marine products. From
Kato city’s barley to
shirasu (white bait) harvested from Awaji Island, the region is abundant with ingredients that showcase the essence of nature.
Additionally, since the opening of the port city of Kobe, diverse cultures have blended, giving rise to a unique Chinese culinary scene that has become part of local tradition. Delicious dishes like
Chahan (fried rice) and
Pork Egg Rice reflect a sense of nostalgia and homely flavors that are integral to Hyogo’s culinary landscape.
Through these selected ingredients and dishes, Seven-Eleven aims not just to serve “delicious” food but also to highlight the history, geography, and way of life in Hyogo, encouraging customers to forge a deeper affection for the region.
