The Expansion

This announcement comes as part of a strategic collaboration aimed at bringing the acclaimed 4DX experience to a broader audience. With two of the new theatres opening at Event Cinemas Castle Hill in New South Wales and Event Cinemas Innaloo in Western Australia just in time for the holiday season in December 2024, movie enthusiasts will be able to immerse themselves in this unique format. The third location is anticipated to open next year, further solidifying the growth of 4DX in the region.

4DX is not your average cinema experience. It engages all five senses, offering an array of more than 21 different effects. These range from motion-synchronized seating, water, wind, snow, and even scents, creating an electrifying atmosphere that transforms regular showings into multisensory adventures. Moviegoers can expect an engaging approach to film that intensifies the appeal of both blockbuster hits and indie films alike.

What to Expect

The upcoming locations at Castle Hill and Innaloo will boast 124 and 128 seats, respectively, emphasizing audience capacity and comfort to ensure that as many fans as possible can partake in this cinematic phenomenon. The expansion will bring the total number of 4DX theatres operated by Event Cinemas in Australia up to seven, highlighting a significant growth in just a few years since the introduction of this format in the region.
