Lydian Secures Significant Funding for Synthetic Aviation Fuel
Lydian, a pioneering company in the realm of synthetic aviation fuel, has recently secured an impressive $43 million in Series A funding, spearheaded by Breakthrough Energy Ventures. The investment, which also saw participation from AP Ventures, Builders Vision, and continued support from existing investors, marks a significant milestone in Lydian’s mission to revolutionize the aviation fuel landscape.
The funds will primarily be directed toward launching Lydian's innovative production platform, PIVOT™, designed to facilitate synthetic fuel production at a significantly reduced cost compared to traditional methods. This groundbreaking platform not only offers a more cost-effective alternative but also aims for a staggering 95% reduction in lifecycle emissions, showcasing Lydian’s commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.

For airlines and aviation stakeholders, this translates to access to ASTM-approved sustainable aviation fuel, produced with up to 95% fewer greenhouse gas emissions compared to traditional fuels.

Looking ahead, Lydian is already making strides with a tonne-scale pilot plant operating at its Research and Development Center of Excellence in Boston. Plans are underway for a commercial demonstration facility slated for completion in 2028, with Lydian aiming for its first full-scale commercial deployment by 2030.
