Spectrum Reach Celebrates 5th Anniversary of Pay It Forward Initiative

Spectrum Reach, the advertising division of Charter Communications, has proudly announced the fifth anniversary of its transformative program, Pay It Forward, designed to support small businesses across the nation. This year, the initiative promises to allocate over $3.8 million in complimentary television advertising for 255 selected small enterprises, contributing to a total investment exceeding $50 million over the past five years.

The Pay It Forward initiative was established with a vision: to empower local entrepreneurs by connecting them with their audience. Michael Guth, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Spectrum Reach, emphasized the company's unwavering commitment to delivering resources and support that enable small businesses to prosper. “Helping small businesses connect with their customers is at the heart of what we do,” he stated, underlining the importance of community engagement and business growth through targeted advertising.

Participating small businesses can receive advertising campaigns valued at up to $15,000. This package not only includes live and streaming TV ads but also a tailored 30-second commercial, expert marketing consultations, and mentoring. Moreover, participants will be invited to attend various Spectrum Reach-sponsored marketing events occurring throughout the nation, such as local chamber events, webinars, and networking opportunities with other entrepreneurs and partners.

Success Stories from Past Participants

Since its inception in 2021, Pay It Forward has positively impacted over 2,250 small businesses across 40 markets. The program benefits a wide spectrum of industries, from charming coffee shops and bakeries to professional services like law firms and pharmacies. Impressively, more than half of the small businesses that utilized Pay It Forward as their first venture into television advertising have continued using this medium, a testament to the program's success.

For instance, Patricia McCreary, founder of a recreation and wellness center in Kansas City, shared how the campaign increased her outreach tremendously. “Our Pay It Forward grant played a key role in helping us get more senior and disabled adults out of the house and back to living life,” she remarked, noting a 35% increase in participants following the launch of their commercial.

Similarly, Michelle Cadore, the owner of DA SPOT NYC in Brooklyn, acknowledged the significant boost in brand awareness her business enjoyed during the holiday season. “The commercial aired across major networks, significantly increasing our visibility and credibility,” Cadore explained, proudly stating that there was a staggering 91% sales increase year-over-year, making December 2024 the strongest in five years.

Partnering for Greater Impact

Spectrum Reach’s commitment to small businesses is amplified through partnerships with organizations like Vera Jean Media, which specializes in enhancing brands' online presence. Vera Jean Media assisted Pay It Forward participants in elevating their digital marketing during the last cycle of the initiative. “Access to strategic marketing and business resources can be a game-changer for entrepreneurs,” said Jourdan Guyton, its founder and CEO.

World Wide Technology, another ally in this cause, provided grants for several businesses in the St. Louis area, ensuring they take full advantage of the Pay It Forward initiative. Javon Coleman of WWT stated, “Our collaboration with Spectrum Reach highlights our investments in the communities we serve and brings to life our core values.”
