Ottobock Kicks Off 2026 Full Circle Movement Series in Long Island

Ottobock Launches 2026 Full Circle Movement Series

Ottobock, a leading figure in the prosthetics and human mobility industry, has proudly announced the commencement of its first Full Circle Movement (FCM) event of 2026. Taking place on Long Island, this initiative strengthens Ottobock's ongoing dedication to creating inclusive and community-focused experiences for people facing limb loss or limb difference.

The Long Island FCM event will span two days in May 2026. It kicks off with a Continuing Education (CE) course for clinicians on Friday, May 15, followed by a community-centric FCM gathering on Sunday, May 17. Both of these events aim to connect individuals in the limb loss community, their families, and healthcare professionals, fostering an environment of support and dialogue.

Engaging the Community and Professionals

Central to the initiative is a collaboration with The Rai Clinic, a well-established rehabilitation practice in Long Island known for its tailored services in limb loss and complex mobility issues. Under the leadership of Dr. Paulinder Rai, the clinic excels in providing personalized prosthetic and orthotic solutions that emphasize functional outcomes and long-term mobility.

  • - Continuing Education Course:
- Date: May 15, 2026
- Time: 2 – 5 p.m.
- Location: The Rai Clinic, 234 Orinoco Drive, Brightwaters, NY 11718

This course is designed for prosthetic and orthotic clinicians and other healthcare professionals. It will delve into essential clinical considerations for those interested in utilizing running prostheses, informed by practical, real-world applications.

  • - Full Circle Movement Community Event:
- Date: May 17, 2026
- Time: 12 – 3 p.m.
- Location: Danzi Stadium, 246 Sunrise Highway, East Patchogue, NY

This culminating event invites individuals at any stage of limb loss or living with mobility differences, along with their families and clinicians, for a day filled with movement activities, sports opportunities, and community bonding. Participants will also have the chance to test out sports prostheses.

Building Confidence and Connection

The ethos behind the Full Circle Movement is simple yet powerful: to grant the limb loss community an opportunity to engage with one another while enhancing their confidence in their prosthetic devices, be it through walking, running, or simply moving more comfortably. Lucas Crisanti, the lead coach for the Full Circle Movement and a Clinical Specialist at Ottobock, added, "Events like this provide the necessary space for individuals to move, explore, and connect with others who understand their journey. Progress is not solely rooted in technological innovation but also occurs when individuals have the chance to engage in an inclusive environment."

Dr. Rai emphasizes the crucial nature of partnerships between clinicians and technology leaders, stating, "Collaboration beyond clinical walls is essential for driving forward prosthetic and orthotic care, leading to innovations that are truly informed by the real-life experiences of those we serve."
