Huawei Unveils AI Data Platform to Bridge AI Models with Business Value

During the recent Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 in Barcelona, Huawei introduced its groundbreaking AI Data Platform. Yuan Yuan, President of Huawei's Data Storage Product Line, emphasized the platform's role in merging AI innovations with practical business applications. As AI technology rapidly advances, a significant challenge remains: many AI models are yet to be integrated into core business services. Traditionally, the focus has been heavily on training AI models, often overlooking the crucial aspect of inference, which is essential for practical application.

To tackle challenges like AI hallucinations, slow system responses, and bandwidth constraints in inference processes, enhancements in data processing are necessary. The new AI Data Platform, defined as '3+1', was presented to address these issues through several capabilities:

1. Knowledge Generation and Acquisition: Utilizing high-precision multimodal searches, the platform converts multimodal resources into precise knowledge, with a remarkable search accuracy exceeding 95% via lossless information parsing and token-level encoding.

2. KV Cache for Accelerated Inference: By leveraging historical memory data, the platform employs a tiered storage distribution system and intelligent KV cache management, significantly extending context windows and minimizing redundancy in computations. This innovation reduces 'time to first token' (TTFT) by 90%, substantially accelerating AI system responses.

3. Memory Data Retrieval and Contextual Management: The AI Data Platform can accurately extract historical data and accumulated knowledge, facilitating a form of memory that evolves with ongoing use. This memory mechanism amplifies the intelligence of models as they are deployed further.

4. Unified Cache Manager (UCM): UCM strategically manages memory data throughout its lifecycle. This tool orchestrates resources across knowledge bases, KV caches, and memory banks, ensuring optimal allocation.

The Huawei AI Data Platform supports two deployment strategies: a device mode for 'ground-up' implementation and an independent mode for gradually enhancing existing infrastructures. The device mode utilizes the OceanStor A800 system for impressive performance and flexible scalability. In contrast, the independent mode utilizes a 'AI Data Engine + OceanStor Dorado storage' architecture, allowing nodes of the data engine to be incorporated into existing systems, safeguarding previous investments and providing a smooth transition towards AI integration.

Yuan Yuan affirmed Huawei's commitment to deepening technological innovation, asserting that the AI Data Platform will be pivotal in transforming AI model potential into tangible business value. This strategic initiative sets Huawei apart as a leader in addressing the critical integration of AI into mainstream business operations, ensuring enterprises can leverage AI capabilities effectively.

As companies navigate the complexities of digital transformation, Huawei's AI Data Platform stands out as a robust solution, enabling organizations to utilize AI technologies efficiently, ultimately fostering a more intelligent and agile business landscape. With Huawei's high aspirations for the platform, the industry watches closely to see how it will reshape the future of AI in various sectors across the globe.
