Curiosity Unveils New XR Attraction and AR Puzzle Kit at XR Kaigi 2025

Curiosity's Exciting Showcase at XR Kaigi 2025

Curiosity Inc. is set to participate as a silver sponsor in the upcoming XR Kaigi 2025, taking place from December 1 to December 3 at Tokyo Port City Takeshiba. This event is one of Japan's largest conferences on Extended Reality (XR), aimed at bringing innovative experiences to a wider audience. Curiosity's booth will feature an array of immersive attractions, including a sneak peek into their new XR attraction 'Roi and the Magical Forest', along with interactive displays and new products from their AR app, AVATAVI.

Premiering 'Roi and the Magical Forest'

Curiosity will provide attendees with an advance experience of the introductory segment of 'Roi and the Magical Forest'. This innovative XR attraction blends fantasy elements with everyday environments, enabling players to immerse themselves in a narrative-driven adventure. Compatible with multiple platforms including Meta Quest 3, iOS, and Android, the attraction represents a significant leap in cross-device interaction. The prologue currently supports devices like Apple Vision Pro and XREAL, with plans for continued multi-platform accessibility in the upcoming full-length version.

Designed as a location-based attraction, it can be set up in a compact 3m x 3m area, allowing for shared experiences among multiple users. Additionally, Curiosity introduces their unique spectator view technology, which offers an external camera perspective of players, enabling audiences to share the excitement and immersion of the experience.

During the event, visitors will be able to enjoy approximately ten minutes of engaging storytelling that marks the beginning of the adventure. New characters will also make their debut, enhancing the seamless blend between reality and the fantastical world.

Interactive Character Displays

At the Curiosity booth, attendees can examine characters from 'Roi and the Magical Forest' using the ELF-SR2 spatial display. This device allows for glasses-free 3D visualization, where users can interactively rotate and explore character designs and animations at their fingertips, thanks to the gaze-tracking display. This offers a unique, multi-angled view of character movements and forms.

New AR Puzzle Kit: 'Museum of Mysteries'

In conjunction with their popular AR app AVATAVI, Curiosity is excited to showcase a hybrid AR puzzle kit titled 'The Museum of Mysteries and the Disappeared Painting'. The kit combines a physical component with smartphone AR, leading users through investigations of peculiar locations and character interactions to solve the mystery of the missing artwork. Notably, a trial-sized mini kit will be available for visitors to easily engage with the story's introduction.

Further details regarding the release of the new content will be announced shortly. Curiosity also welcomes consultations on developing XR content, location-based attractions, and other digital experiences catering to commercial facilities, tourism, and events. Their aim is to support small-scale initiatives as well as permanent installations to enrich visitor experiences.
