Huawei Recognizes Turkey's Talent at Developer and Designer Awards
On December 8, 2025, Huawei Mobile Services held a grand event in Istanbul, celebrating Turkey's most innovative app developers and designers at the Türkiye Developer and Designer Awards. The award ceremony was aimed at acknowledging the outstanding contributions these professionals have made to Huawei's wearable ecosystem, showcasing their creativity and technical excellence.
Wan Fei, the country manager for Huawei Consumer Business Group in Turkey, highlighted the significance of this event by stating, "Today's awards celebrate not only creativity and technical excellence but also the spirit of innovation that drives our wearable ecosystem. Turkish developers and designers have shown extraordinary vision and talent, and we believe their contributions will inspire new possibilities throughout Europe. Together, we are building a future where technology empowers creativity and connects people in meaningful ways."
In recent years, Turkey has emerged as a vibrant hub of creativity, boasting a rapidly growing user base for wearables, making it a crucial part of Huawei's global vision. By fostering collaboration and acknowledging local talent, Huawei is strengthening partnerships, working closely with designers and developers to deliver more comprehensive and personalized wearable experiences to users worldwide.
Shan Xuefeng, Vice President of Huawei Consumer Cloud Service Europe, added, "This initiative reflects our commitment to promoting local talent and fostering innovation across Europe. By recognizing Turkey's developers and designers, we celebrate creativity while also building a stronger ecosystem that offers cutting-edge, personalized experiences to our global users."
This year’s awards also recognized three key partners: Akbank, Garanti BBVA, and Turkish Technology, a subsidiary of Turkish Airlines, for their exceptional contributions to Huawei’s wearable ecosystem. Their dedication to innovation and customer experience aligns with the shared vision of creating smarter, more connected lifestyles.
Huawei's Leadership in the Wearable Market
Huawei continues to assert its leadership in the global wearable market, maintaining the number one position for two consecutive quarters with a market share of 20.2% in Q2 2025, according to IDC. The company’s ongoing efforts to innovate through strategic partnerships were spotlighted during the awards ceremony.
The event also underscored Huawei's open and interconnected ecosystem, which enables developers and designers to innovate and connect with global audiences—especially through the creative realm of watch face design, leveraging Turkey's renowned design heritage.
A key moment during the ceremony was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Huawei Consumer Group and Garanti BBVA, aimed at expanding cooperation in smart payment solutions. Building on the successful collaboration between Garanti BBVA and Huawei for contactless payments via smartwatches, this partnership enhances digital convenience and transaction fluidity for users across Turkey.
The award ceremony was not only about recognizing outstanding achievements but also reinforced Huawei's vision of establishing win-win partnerships that enrich the wearable experience for both creators and consumers.
