A Culinary Transformation at The Atlantic Grill
The Atlantic Grill, a cherished dining spot in Rye, New Hampshire, is embarking on a fresh culinary journey with the appointment of Executive Chef Andy Stark. Teaming up with General Manager Renee Locke, this dynamic duo aims to elevate the dining experience, weaving creativity with community spirit, and enhancing the already beloved coastal cuisine.
A New Leadership Chapter
Andy Stark's arrival marks a pivotal moment for The Atlantic Grill. As a native of New Hampshire, Stark has deep-rooted connections with the area, and his culinary journey took off at a small pizza shop in Durham. Since then, he's gained invaluable experience working in larger kitchens, with mentorship from notable culinary figures such as Jay Gibney and John DeFranc. Stark's professional path eventually led him to manage high-volume restaurants, including the bustling Banners Kitchen & Tap at Boston's TD Garden, where he catered to esteemed clients like the Boston Bruins and the NBA.
Stark reflects, "Joining The Atlantic Grill feels like coming home, both personally and professionally." His diverse culinary background has shaped his approach to leadership and creativity in the kitchen, aligning perfectly with the restaurant’s mission of delivering exceptional dining experiences.
Innovative Menu Offerings
With a commitment to locally sourced ingredients and bold flavors, Stark's menu reflects his passion for creating accessible yet elevated dishes. He has collaborated with local purveyors, including Labrie Family Farms and Ipswich Shellfish, to transform seasonal produce into culinary highlights. Stark's philosophy is to take good food and elevate it into something unforgettable.
The newly launched fall menu features standout dishes such as
Coconut Curried Salmon served with lemongrass jasmine rice, and
Braised Short Ribs paired with whipped potatoes and horseradish gremolata. Each dish embodies a combination of familiar comforts and innovative cuisine, inviting guests to relish the best of what the New England coast has to offer.
A Dining Destination Beyond the Ordinary
While The Atlantic Grill has garnered a loyal following over the years, Stark and Locke have aspirations to attract even more diners. The restaurant's refined ambiance and inviting atmosphere aim to immerse guests in unparalleled coastal hospitality. Locke expresses the vision well: “With Andy in the kitchen, we’re creating a space that feels like home, yet surprises you with every visit.”
Reflecting on their shared values and aspirations, Stark emphasizes a commitment to hospitality and community connection, which will only strengthen under their leadership.
Portsmouth Restaurant Week Participation
From November 6-15, The Atlantic Grill will participate in Portsmouth Restaurant Week. The restaurant is offering special prix fixe menus for both brunch and dinner, showcasing culinary favorites, including their famed
Seafood Chowder and
Harvest Bowls. Stark notes, "Restaurant Week is an opportunity to introduce guests to the new offerings; it's approachable luxury that celebrates good food in an inviting environment."
Thanksgiving Catering
As the holiday season approaches, The Atlantic Grill will introduce a Thanksgiving catering package that serves 6-8 guests, featuring traditional favorites like roasted turkey and maple butter rolls. Perfect for families wanting to enjoy hassle-free holiday meals, this package will provide easy reheating instructions, allowing guests to focus on what truly matters.
A Legacy of Hospitality
Since opening its doors in 2015, The Atlantic Grill has become a cornerstone of the Seacoast dining scene. Known for its commitment to fresh seafood and local charm, the restaurant now continues to elevate its reputation under the stewardship of Stark and Locke. With a dedication to excellence and community-first spirit, The Atlantic Grill remains a beacon of hospitality on the New Hampshire coastline.
