Exciting Exhibition of Popular Tennis Manga
On January 18, 2026, the
Lucent Cup 66th Tokyo Indoor All-Japan Soft Tennis Tournament held at the Tokyo Gymnasium featured an impressive exhibition celebrating well-loved tennis manga. Organized by
Wedge Holdings, the event brought together thousands of fans eager to explore activities centered on popular series such as
BREAK BACK,
Love Flat, and
Advisors and Others. With around 4,500 attendees, the event was marked as a roaring success and offered guests a rich experience of tennis culture and manga artistry.
Showcasing Three Unique Tennis Manga
The exhibition's centerpiece was a series of large panel displays showcasing key elements from the featured manga. Many visitors paused to read the articles and snap photos in front of the vibrant panels.
BREAK BACK, illustrated by
KASA and serialized in
Monthly Shonen Champion, was prominently featured. The display included highlights from the intense match between Takuma Momose and Rei Ooshiro (seen in volumes 15-18). Full-scale boards explained how a former soft tennis player competes in hard tennis, while an engaging character personality quiz created by the author was also displayed. The character, Takuma Momose, is a former junior champion in soft tennis who transitions into hard tennis, demonstrating the skills and techniques shared between both formats.
In parallel, the
Love Flat exhibit highlighted the journey of Nagi Asagiri, who transitions from being a middle school champion to wheelchair tennis after a life-changing accident, aiming to become the best in the world. The event also featured a booth for merchandise, such as acrylic keychains and badges showcasing this inspiring manga.
Visitors had the opportunity to engage with a performance wheelchairs, allowing them to experience the thrills of wheelchair tennis firsthand. This interactive approach, combined with the panels, attracted many who were curious about the sport.
Meanwhile,
Advisors and Others presented its own slice of tennis life through the eyes of coach Yoshihide Matsumoto, an actual inter-high champion training a group of students with their eyes on the championship.
