JR Central and paramita Launch Innovative Regional Revitalization Project with Ethical Travel Packages

JR Central and paramita's Joint Venture for Regional Revitalization

JR Central Group and paramita have embarked on a groundbreaking initiative aimed at regional revitalization through travel. The new project, named 'Zurashi Tabi,' offers ethical travel packages that combine shinkansen round trips with select experience coupons. This innovative initiative began on May 27, 2023, and focuses on contributing to local communities while providing travelers with unique experiences.

Overview of the Collaboration

Paramita, based in Shinjuku, Tokyo, is committed to sustainable regional development through its Local Coop initiative. Meanwhile, JR Central Group has previously operated the 'conomichi' platform, which connects local communities and seeks to create a 'relationship population.' This collaboration aims to further enhance community engagement by developing an option for ethical travel, thereby encouraging shinkansen customers to contribute directly to the sustainable development of regions while enjoying their travels.

Understanding the 'Ethical Rewards'

Travelers participating in 'Zurashi Tabi' can select the 'ethical rewards' option, where a portion of their travel costs will support the sustainable development of targeted regions. In return, participants will receive a digital artwork that highlights the scenery, culture, and sentiments of the region, accessible through paramita's environmental value NFT project, 'SINRA.' This digital art serves as proof of the traveler's contribution to the local community.

What is 'Zurashi Tabi'?

'Zurashi Tabi' is a specially designed travel package that encourages travelers to experience off-the-beaten-path adventures by avoiding crowded times and locations. The package provides shinkansen round trips combined with experience coupons, making for a budget-friendly option that offers unique experiences rather than traditional tourist attractions.
