Tempo Holdings to Raise the Japanese Flag at All Stores to Celebrate National Pride

Tempo Holdings Takes a Stand for National Pride

In a remarkable show of support for Japan's culinary tradition and national pride, Tempo Holdings has announced that it will officially raise the Japanese flag at all its 105 stores during public holidays and on the day of its shareholders' meeting. This initiative is set to commence on July 20, 2026, coinciding with Marine Day, a national holiday in Japan. The act of flag-raising represents both gratitude and respect towards the local customers and the country as a whole.

The initiative will primarily involve Tempo Busters, the direct management subsidiary of Tempo Holdings, which will see the flag displayed at 85 locations across Japan. The company’s leadership, spearheaded by President Atsushi Morishita, emphasizes the importance of expressing appreciation to the community and the customers who frequent their establishments.

Other members of the Tempo Group, including Asakuma, Yamato Sakana, Sunrise Service, and Marche, will also join in this effort, aiming to increase the flag's visibility in select locations starting on Marine Day, with plans to expand to more outlets by the end of the year.

A Commitment to Supporting Japanese Culture

Tempo Holdings has been deeply entrenched in supporting the food industry in Japan, providing assistance in various business aspects, including kitchen equipment sales and the management of dining establishments. Their endeavors have fostered numerous dining ventures, contributing to the smiles and enjoyment of patrons, which are integral to the fabric of Japanese culture and lifestyle.

The practice of raising the national flag on holidays was once commonplace throughout Japan; however, such displays have become increasingly rare. According to recent sentiments, many hold that it is indeed natural for a Japanese company to display the national flag, reinforcing their connection to the country. Unfortunately, opportunities for these displays have become limited, with many wishing to show their appreciation for Japan without the proper avenues to do so.
