Central Phuket Celebrates Six Successful Years and Expands Luxury Zone
In honor of its sixth anniversary, Central Phuket has announced an impressive expansion of its luxury shopping area, named Floresta, with a substantial investment of one billion THB. This initiative aims to further solidify Phuket's reputation as a premier luxury destination on the global stage.
According to Nattakit Tangpoonsinthana, the Marketing Director of Central Pattana plc, Phuket is rapidly becoming a luxury counterpart to renowned destinations such as Hawaii, Monaco, Santorini, and Miami. With anticipated tourist revenues reaching 500 billion THB in 2024—a remarkable 28% increase from 2023—and an average expenditure of 34,336 THB per visitor, the demand for high-end shopping experiences is surging.
As part of the expansion, Central Phuket will increase the area of its Floresta zone from 180,000 to 200,000 square meters. The number of luxury brands offered will rise from 16 to 25, significantly enhancing the shopping experience for affluent customers and international tourists. Stylish brands such as Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, Burberry, Bulgari, Dior, Gucci, Hermès, and Louis Vuitton will feature prominently in the re-envisioned space. Notable expansions include the largest Louis Vuitton store in Southern Thailand and the biggest Prada boutique in the country, measuring an impressive 597 square meters. Additionally, Tiffany & Co. is set to unveil a flagship store, while Bulgari is launching a pop-up near Bangkok, and Céline will open its doors in December 2024.
Another highlight is the introduction of Lululemon's first store outside Bangkok and a new Zara flagship, which will be the largest in Southeast Asia at a sprawling 1,800 square meters. Currently, Central Phuket attracts around 80,000 daily visitors, a number expected to rise to 100,000 after the expansion, with a remarkable 70% of them being international tourists. Dominant nationalities visiting include Russians, Chinese, Americans, and Singaporeans, and Central Phuket members reportedly spend five times more than shoppers at other malls.
The development of Phuket as a luxury hotspot is supported by several factors:
1. Expansion of Phuket International Airport: The airport will significantly enhance its capacity to accommodate 18 million passengers annually, featuring Thailand’s first five-star terminal designed for private jets and able to host 156 private jets per year.
2. Culinary Excellence:
The province boasts more than 15 luxury dining experiences, including Su Va Na, recognized as the world's best underwater restaurant, alongside five marinas for superyachts and 28 Michelin-starred restaurants.
3. World-Class Amenities: Phuket also offers 16 top-ranking golf courses, nine premier hospitals, and 13 international schools, all contributing to its allure as a high-end destination.
To mark this significant anniversary, Central Phuket has launched the campaign titled
LIVE. LUXE. LOVE, featuring exclusive promotions that include:
- - A VIP expedition: An $8 million THB budget awarded to top spenders, which can fund a dream trip to Finland to chase the northern lights.
- - E-vouchers for key members: With vouchers redeemable for up to 6,000 THB, enticing benefits include cashback up to 17% when using selected credit cards.
By continually enhancing its offerings and establishing partnerships with luxury brands, Central Phuket is committed to promoting the island as a coveted destination for luxury lifestyle seekers worldwide. To stay updated on Central Pattana’s forthcoming activities, visit
