D&D Group Expands into Energy Management with EV Car Sharing Transition

D&D Group Enters Energy Management via EV Car Sharing

D&D Holdings Co., Ltd., based in Chuo-ku, Tokyo, has recently made a significant move into the energy management sector through its subsidiary, Bank Rent-a-Car. This company has taken over the direct operations of the EV car sharing service 'eemo,' which was previously run by REXEV. The 'eemo' platform aims to promote sustainable transportation and local energy consumption, serving both as a method of mobility and as a regional energy resource in times of emergency.

Transition of the ‘Energy x Mobility’ Model

These initiatives are aimed at encouraging the use of renewable energy and addressing power supply challenges by evaluating new local energy infrastructure leveraging EV technology. Through this acquisition, D&D Group is poised to enhance EV car sharing as a significant component of local energy management services.

Evolving into a Business Model Addressing Local Challenges

The goal now is to evolve these initiatives beyond mere social contributions and establish a business that maintains both profitability and social responsibility. By integrating mobility services with community-centric solutions, the company plans to directly tackle issues regarding energy, local transportation, and tourism.

Building a Regional Co-Creation Model

Aside from car rentals and sharing services, D&D Group operates tourism and lodging businesses, along with local collaboration initiatives.
