Orqa Partners with Red River Army Depot to Enhance Drone Manufacturing for US Military
In a monumental move for the defense and aerospace sectors, Orqa, Europe's leading drone technology company, has formally signed a teaming agreement with the Red River Army Depot located in Texarkana, Texas. This agreement marks a significant advancement in the U.S. Army's small Unmanned Aircraft System (sUAS) manufacturing efforts and aims to reinforce the Army's modernization initiatives.
The partnership is a strategic step under the recent National Defense Authorization Act, which aims to enhance the production of unmanned systems across existing Army depots. Known for its innovative sUAS technologies, Orqa will utilize its expertise to meet the operational requirements of the U.S. military while also extending its capabilities to supporting Army programs in Europe.
This agreement not only expands Orqa's footprint in U.S. manufacturing but is also seen as a response to the growing demand for domestic production of advanced unmanned systems. Srdjan Kovacevic, the co-founder and CEO of Orqa, expressed gratitude for this collaboration, signaling a strong commitment to enhancing U.S. drone manufacturing capabilities. He stated, "The increase in capacity will supplement our existing production output at our headquarters in Croatia. Our Global Manufacturing Partnership Program aims to elevate output levels significantly throughout the year. This agreement signifies strong confidence in Orqa, our capabilities, and our products."
As part of this collaboration, Orqa plans to deliver platforms that will be branded as 'Made in America', directly available to U.S. military customers. This move also intends to bolster the production efforts for allied nations through established security cooperation channels.
The Red River Army Depot, established in 1941, specializes in the manufacturing and repair of various military vehicles and components. Through this partnership, Orqa will harness the Depot's expertise and resources to scale up the production of its innovative drone systems.
Orqa’s operations are marked by their vertical integration from design to production, which has allowed them to deliver over 100,000 products in the past year. With clients spanning more than 50 countries, Orqa is committed to redefining aerial robotics for both defense and enterprise sectors worldwide.
The teaming agreement with Red River Army Depot represents a forward-thinking initiative towards not just enhancing drone capabilities for military applications but also ensuring that the U.S. Army maintains its competitive edge in the growing field of unmanned systems technology. As both companies work closely together, this partnership could pave the way for a sustainable and advanced technological future in military aviation.
