Visa's Touch Campaign for Noto
Visa Worldwide Japan is excited to announce the launch of the "Visa Touch for Noto" campaign, which will take place in Ishikawa Prefecture from July 10, 2025, to September 30, 2025. Designed to harness the power of touch payments, this initiative aims to encourage local shopping and support the Noto region, especially in light of recent natural disasters.
The campaign includes two main components: the Ishikawa campaign and a national social media campaign promoting the power of touch. Participants can register their Visa cards on a dedicated campaign webpage known as "Visa Wari." During the campaign, if cardholders use their registered Visa cards for contactless payments at participating stores, they will receive a 15% cashback. This cash back can go up to a maximum of 1,000 yen per Visa card during the campaign period, equating to a significant contribution from Visa to the support efforts for Noto.
Campaign Details
Ishikawa Campaign
The Ishikawa campaign comprises multiple participating businesses:
- - Campaign A targets locations such as the Hokuriku Railway Group, Kanazawa Station Tourist Information Center, Kanazawa Castle Park, Kenrokuen Garden, and more. Cardholders using a Visa touch payment card or a mobile device with Visa functionality will be eligible for the cashback.
- - Campaign B focuses on sites like Kanazawa Hyakubangai, Heiwado, and Matsumoto Kiyoshi. Participants must use a debit card's touch payment method or a smartphone with a Visa card enabled for touch payments, with cashback applicable only for debit transactions using plastic cards.
National Social Media Campaign
In addition to the local effort, Visa will also be running a nationwide social media campaign where every touch recorded on a special site translates to a 1 yen donation towards Noto. Those who share supportive messages on X after making a touch transaction have the chance to win a two-person stay at Hotel Nikko Kanazawa, which includes meals.
By making tapping payments accessible at numerous locations across Ishikawa, Visa hopes to foster a swift and convenient payment method while supporting recovery efforts for residents impacted by the Noto Peninsula earthquake and heavy rainfall in 2024. The funds raised will contribute to restoring smiles and energy to the local populace, which is expected to resonate positively throughout the region.
Visa encourages everyone to explore this unique opportunity and contribute to the revitalization of Noto while enjoying cashback benefits through eligible transactions. Whether through local establishments or through social media participation, your support through payment touches could make a significant impact.
