Geely Farizon Showcases Eco-Friendly Mobility Solutions at Hong Kong Expo 2026
Geely Farizon Unveils Green Mobility at Hong Kong Expo 2026
On June 18, 2026, the International Automotive and Supply Chain Expo kicked off at AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong, showcasing pioneering mobility solutions. Geely Farizon New Energy Commercial Vehicle Group, a trailblazer in the field of alternative energy-powered commercial vehicles, presented a comprehensive range of products emphasizing smart and eco-friendly mobility systems. This year marks Geely Farizon's second consecutive participation in the prestigious event, underlining its commitment to sustainable transportation.
The portfolio on display included methanol-electric hybrids and fully electric systems tailored for public transport, urban logistics, autonomous vehicles, and emergency power solutions. These innovations align with Hong Kong's ambitious goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2050, demonstrating Geely Farizon's dedication to green technology.
Among the highlights was the introduction of several vehicles, such as the methanol-powered REV SV, REV Homtruck, and the REV Light Truck. In a first for Hong Kong, they showcased a customized double-decker bus designed specifically for local public transport and tourist activities. This bus, the U12M, received emissions certification from Hong Kong's Environmental Protection Department and is slated for deployment in August, marking a significant milestone in meeting stringent environmental standards.
Additionally, Geely Farizon announced the establishment of a strategic partnership with CaoCao at the event themed “Green City, Smart City.” The collaboration aims to produce 100,000 units of the Farizon Robovan by 2030, enhancing the development of eco-friendly and smart urban environments. Drawing on Geely's extensive experience in the Hong Kong market and leveraging a strategy of synergy, the partners will accelerate the mass production of Robovan and build an intelligent logistics network driven by artificial intelligence.
As a major international metropolis, Hong Kong has set its sights on achieving climate neutrality within the next few decades. However, challenges such as high population density, limited land, and scarce energy resources complicate the development of necessary infrastructure like electric vehicle charging stations. Thus, the transition towards sustainable transportation must consider these regional specifics and leverage commercially viable solutions.
Geely Farizon’s technology strategy, combining methanol-electric and fully electric systems, is well-aligned with the urban characteristics and developmental needs of Hong Kong. Having constructed a global sales and service network across 64 countries, Geely Farizon stands as a leading brand in the field of alternative energy vehicles. This year alone, it secured the top spot among Chinese exporters of commercial vehicles powered by alternative energy sources.
The Hong Kong region is particularly crucial for Geely Farizon, offering the broadest product portfolio. Their new generation vehicles are already operational across various sectors, including the successful deployment of the Farizon SV model in Big Bee's taxi fleet. Feedback from drivers and passengers has been overwhelmingly positive, praising its zero emissions and spacious cabin.
Looking ahead, Geely Farizon plans to implement a comprehensive ecosystem of green and smart mobility solutions in Hong Kong, featuring methanol-electric ferries in Victoria Harbour, Farizon SV taxis, and methanol-electric city buses, along with autonomous robotic vehicles. Aiming to support the city’s climate neutrality goal, the company’s vision extends to promoting Chinese innovations in alternative fuel vehicles internationally, sharing the benefits of its pioneering technologies worldwide.
