From November 22 to November 30, 2025, Kabuki Art Corporation will host its 24th Art Auction, titled "MEGURU" at its gallery in Tokyo. With over 600 works showcasing the brilliance of Japanese art history, this auction promises an exquisite collection from renowned masters such as Ito Jakuchu, Yokoyama Taikan, and Hishida Shunso.
Brief History of MEGURU
The "MEGURU" auction series began in 2019, focusing primarily on Edo and modern Japanese paintings while also featuring Western art, calligraphy, prints, and crafts. Since its inception, the auction has grown significantly, establishing itself as one of Japan's leading platforms for art enthusiasts both domestically and internationally.
The 2025 Auction Highlights
This year's auction will include notable works such as Suzuki Kiichi's Edo Rinpa pieces, a rare flower basket painting by Yokoyama Taikan, seasonal grass paintings by Hishida Shunso, and auspicious sunrise paintings by Kano Hogai. Additionally, works depicting beautiful women by Togo Seiji, calligraphy by Matsuo Basho, and exquisite tea bowls by Itaya Hazan will be exhibited.
