The Ritz-Carlton and Late Checkout: A New Chapter in Luxury Fashion
In an exciting continuation of their collaboration, The Ritz-Carlton, a luxury brand of Marriott International based in Maryland, USA, has unveiled the second chapter of its partnership with the Madrid-based fashion label, Late Checkout. This collaboration goes beyond traditional luxury hospitality, evolving into a brand that represents a modern luxurious lifestyle. The initial collaboration was a remarkable fusion of The Ritz-Carlton's refined image and Late Checkout's unique perspective, which garnered a Gold Award at the prestigious Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.
The new collection expands into accessories, loungewear, and children's items, embodying the timeless appeal cherished across generations at The Ritz-Carlton while reflecting Late Checkout's vision of "a living world where hotels intersect with stories and style." The color palette features navy, ivory, and light blue, celebrating The Ritz-Carlton's traditions while incorporating the playful spirit characteristic of Late Checkout.
From reinterpretations of classic items to cleverly designed pieces that bring a smile, this collection achieves a perfect balance of sophistication and fun unique to Late Checkout. Noteworthy items include light knits adorned with The Ritz-Carlton's iconic lion and a striking velvet bomber jacket with bold embroidery. The collection also introduces loungewear inspired by tuxedos, including shawl collar gowns and long cotton pajama sets that enhance leisure time with elegance. Furthermore, kids' wear made from premium cotton, including rugby polos, T-shirts, and caps, makes its debut. Home items like blankets and umbrellas also weave the collection's humor and playfulness into everyday life. A new globe motif inspired by vintage travel emblems symbolizes exploration and evolution, mirroring the global spirit shared by both brands. Additionally, the already popular baseball caps return as an iconic accessory in this new lineup.
All of these items consistently express a style where aspiration and everyday life coexist beautifully. They embody a unique world enriched with refined craftsmanship and playful elements.
Captivating Visual Campaign
The campaign, directed by Rogelio González and produced by Little Spain, portrays a dreamlike stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Nikko, with actor Josh Hutcherson reprising his role from the previous collaboration. Surrounded by lush mountains and serene lakes, Nikko serves as an ideal backdrop that shapes the entire creative narrative, blending The Ritz-Carlton's elegance with Late Checkout's whimsicality in stunning visual aesthetics. The visual campaign is captured by photographer Javier Ruiz, who beautifully translates the cinematic quality of the video into rich still imagery.
In this collaboration, Little Spain, Late Checkout, and Josh Hutcherson have crafted a visual piece where contrasting elements resonate harmoniously. Themes of timeless luxury versus whimsical comedy, tranquility versus spontaneity, come together to create a unified artistic vision. Originally, the script did not envision a romantic arc, but the natural intimacy developed between Hutcherson and his co-star on set added unsuspected emotional depth. Having deeply engaged in the entire production process, Hutcherson collaborated closely with director González to refine the tone and pacing of the film. As a result, the finished product authentically reflects the spirit and tranquility of Nikko.
