Introduction
On December 3, 2024, in Nakhon Nayok, Huawei, JA Solar, UNESCO, and the Thai Ministry of Education officially launched the Green Education Project in Thailand. This ambitious initiative aims to cultivate a new generation equipped with advanced skills in green technologies and digital literacy. The project is part of Huawei's TECH4ALL initiative, emphasizing the importance of clean energy solutions and ICT training.
Project Overview
The Green Education Project intends to implement energy-efficient solutions and comprehensive training in information and communication technology across eleven schools and community centers in Thailand. Speaking at the launch, David Li, the CEO of Huawei Thailand, highlighted that this project transcends traditional corporate social responsibility. Instead, it represents a long-term investment in youth and the sustainable future of Thailand.
Objectives of the Project
The key objectives of the Green Education Project include:

Empowering students and communities: By providing schools and communities with renewable energy systems and promoting technical skills, the project aims to tackle significant challenges within Thailand's education and energy sectors, particularly in under-served rural areas.

Creating sustainable growth models: The project not only seeks to address immediate educational needs but also to establish a model of sustainable growth that fosters inclusion and innovation.

Fostering partnerships: Collaborations among global corporations and local educational institutions are essential in creating meaningful change within communities.
Beneficiaries and Activities
The initial beneficiaries of this project are:
- - Banna District Learning Encouragement Center: This community center will provide free training in renewable energy and digital literacy, aiming to bridge the skills gap in less serviced regions.
- - Kanchanapisek Vocational Training College: This institution will utilize donated photovoltaic systems to train students in installation, maintenance, and management of solar energy systems, thereby equipping them with valuable technical skills for their future careers.
According to Tisakorn Klinbooppha, the director of the Banna District Learning Encouragement Center, the initiative exemplifies how global corporations can partner with local schools to drive significant improvements in education.
Three Pillars of the Project
The Green Education Project is structured around three key pillars:

Green Schools for Secondary Education: This pillar involves installing solar systems on secondary school roofs while providing training to teachers and students about the benefits and operations of clean energy.

Green Schools for Vocational Education: This aspect prepares technical and vocational students to gain hands-on experience with photovoltaic systems, preparing them for careers in the renewable energy sector.
3.
Green Communities: This pillar will support public libraries and learning promotion centers through mobile digital education programs based on renewable energy, facilitated by Huawei's Digital Bus, which offers training sessions on green energy and cybersecurity.
Impact and Future Plans
The Huawei Digital Bus has already made significant strides by providing free training on green energy and cybersecurity awareness to students in Nakhon Nayok, having reached over 4,500 students across ten remote provinces. This initiative aligns with Thailand's national commitment to renewable energy adoption and the modernization of educational systems.
