The highly anticipated exhibition, "The Miraculous Gazes: The Adventures of Japanese Women Photographers," will officially open on July 4th at the Hikarie Hall in Shibuya. Running until August 26th, this exhibition brings together the works of 30 influential female photographers who have played a critical role in the history of Japanese photography and art since the 1950s.

This exhibition is part of a larger international project that began in France, showcasing the talents of Japanese women photographers from the 1950s to the present. Following its debut in Arles, the exhibition will travel through the Netherlands and Germany before heading to the Photographers' Gallery in London and concluding in New York City at the International Center of Photography later this year. The Japanese edition, however, has a unique twist, adding four new artists to the lineup, making it an unprecedented large-scale exhibition celebrating female photographers in Japan.

At Hikarie Hall, expect an immersive experience featuring installations and video projections that utilize the venue's expansive space. These unique presentations promise to offer a one-of-a-kind display that can only be seen at this exhibition. Attendees can also look forward to exclusive behind-the-scenes videos featuring interviews with notable photographers such as Miyako Ishiuchi, Mari Katayama, and Mika Ninagawa, who share insights into their creative processes and messages for visitors.
