Launching New Horizons: Gunma × EIT Global Outreach
On August 21, 2025, a pivotal event marked the commencement of the "Gunma × EIT Global Outreach Program." This initiative, orchestrated by Zero One Booster, headquartered in Chiyoda, Tokyo, was established in collaboration with Gunma Prefecture and the European Innovation and Technology Institute (EIT), one of the largest startup support organizations worldwide. The program aims to enhance cooperation between local businesses in Gunma and European startups.
The kickoff event, held at the 32nd-floor Co-Creation Space, "NETSUGEN," brought together five selected companies from Gunma and one organization. These participants shared their business proposals aimed at collaboration with European startups, creating pathways for innovative solutions to address market challenges.
In a hybrid format, with 38 attendees present on-site and 46 participating online, a total of 84 individuals gathered to explore the significance of open innovation for business creation and problem-solving. The sessions provided crucial insights into fostering communication and collaboration with European startups, which were complemented by informative lectures, highlighting effective strategies for partnerships.
Currently, EIT is actively seeking candidates among European startups, with selected ones set to engage in online discussions with local companies. This collaboration is expected to culminate in in-person meetings scheduled for November, where European representatives will visit Japan for further discussions and exchanges.
