The Finalists of the 3rd National High School Policy Competition



The highly anticipated finalists for the 3rd National High School Policy Competition, hosted by the Japan Junior Chamber, have been officially announced. The competition has drawn considerable attention, with 16 high schools from across Japan securing a spot in the finals, which will take place on August 25, 2025, at the House of Councillors' Annex in the National Diet Building.

Regional Qualifiers


The competition involved a series of regional qualifiers held earlier this year:
  • - East Japan: July 24 at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building
  • - Kyushu-Okinawa: July 26 at the Itoshima City Council Hall
  • - West Japan: July 27 at the Kyoto Prefectural Old Council Hall

Each of these events showcased impressive projects and initiatives from participating schools, with various esteemed judges from local government councils evaluating the presentations.

Finalists Breakdown


Below are the top teams from each region, selected based on their performances in either the Thematic Category or the Free Theme Category:

East Japan Region (6 teams total)

1. Thematic Category: "Creating a Sustainable Digital Policy for Future Japan"
- 1st Place: Project Y from Chiba Prefectural Shibaura Institute of Technology High School
- 2nd Place: Soralink from Nagano Prefectural Saku Chosei High School
- 3rd Place: Reiwa's Lincoln from Saitama Prefectural Honjo Higashi High School

2. Free Theme Category: "You Are the Prime Minister! Tackling Regional Social Issues for a Brighter Future"
- 1st Place: Shin Local Revitalization from Tokyo University Komaba High School
- 2nd Place: Furukawa Reime Project from Miyagi Prefectural Furukawa Reime High School
- 3rd Place: Project YY from Chiba Prefectural Shibaura Institute of Technology High School

West Japan Region (6 teams total)

1. Thematic Category:
- 1st Place: Gifu High School Agriculture Group from Gifu Prefectural Gifu High School
- 2nd Place: Light from Kyoto City Horikawa High School
- 3rd Place: Future Creation☆Sparkling Soda from Sanyo Gakuen High School

2. Free Theme Category:
- 1st Place: Kansei Party for Kyoto's Future from Kyoto Prefectural Saga High School
- 2nd Place: Team Cultured Meat from Ehime Prefectural Imabari Higashi Secondary School
- 3rd Place: Re.Truther from Osaka Prefectural Hofu High School

Kyushu-Okinawa Region (4 teams total)

1. Thematic Category:
- 1st Place: LINK from Nagasaki Prefectural Seido Mikawadai High School
- 2nd Place: JYOKA DOLL from Oita Prefectural Information Science High School

2. Free Theme Category:
- 1st Place: Tida - For an Era Where the Yanbaru Railbird Can Fly from Kitayama High School in Okinawa
- 2nd Place: Oita Tomei Social Affairs Division from Oita Tomei High School

Upcoming Schedule


The finals are set for August 25, 2025, where judges will evaluate the performances live at the National Diet Building and award special prizes. Following the event, from September 1 to September 20, 2025, an online public voting will be held to select the top team based on popular votes. Make sure to vote and support your favorite team!
