Abdullah Abdin Ready-Mix Concrete Achieves Prestigious CSC Certification in MENA Region

Abdullah Abdin Ready-Mix Concrete Becomes a Leader in Sustainable Construction

Abdullah Abdin Ready-Mix Concrete has made significant strides in the construction industry by becoming the first company in the MENA region to be certified by the Concrete Sustainability Council (CSC). This prestigious certification recognizes the company's commitment to sustainable practices and positions it as a leader in the field of environmentally responsible construction.

Located in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, Abdullah Abdin Ready-Mix Concrete has always prioritized quality and innovation in its production processes. With this certification, the company not only reinforces its dedication to sustainability but also sets a benchmark for other companies in the industry. The recognition comes as part of a global initiative started in 2017 to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within the concrete sector.

The CSC certification is the only internationally applicable system for ready-mix and precast concrete, underscoring the rigorous standards that companies must meet to obtain it. As of now, 1288 plants across 25 countries have achieved this certification, which is acknowledged by key green building labels such as LEED and BREEAM.

To celebrate this accomplishment, Abdullah Abdin Ready-Mix Concrete hosted an award ceremony at their facilities in Sharma, NEOM, where industry leaders and partners gathered to applaud this major achievement. During the event, Tariq Abdullah Abdin, the company’s CEO, emphasized that this landmark certification demonstrates Saudi Arabia's leadership in sustainable development.

"We aspire to set the standard for environmentally friendly construction while contributing to the ambitious goals of Vision 2030 of our Kingdom," stated Abdin. He stressed the importance of this achievement not only for his company but also for the broader construction landscape in the region, particularly with the significant projects associated with NEOM.

Cynthia Imesch, CSC coordinator and sustainability manager, echoed these sentiments by noting that Abdullah Abdin’s success marks a transformative moment for the construction industry in the MENA region. She highlighted how integrating sustainability into business operations can help achieve global climate objectives and foster a healthier environment.

Rabih Fakih, managing director of Grey Matters, further underscored the growing momentum for sustainable construction in the Middle East, praising Abdullah Abdin for its leadership role. He pointed out that this achievement serves as an inspiration for other companies to adopt practices that align with the environmental goals set forth in Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 initiative and NEOM's aspirations.

In addition to receiving the CSC certification, Abdullah Abdin Ready-Mix Concrete has also entered into a memorandum of understanding with Cryo and CarbonCure Technologies. This agreement will focus on the deployment of carbon capture and utilization technologies within its facilities, aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions and enhancing the sustainability of concrete production.

The partnership involves innovative solutions, such as incorporating captured CO₂ into concrete mixtures, aligning with Abdullah Abdin's mission to implement environmentally friendly construction practices and actively participate in the Kingdom's decarbonization objectives.

Founded in 1981, Abdullah Abdin Ready-Mix Concrete has established itself as a reliable name in concrete solutions, known for its commitment to quality, innovation, and sustainability. Its successful delivery of major projects across Saudi Arabia showcases its pivotal role in constructing the future of the Kingdom.
