Community Champions Unite for Dignity
The Grateful Garment Project (TGGP), an organization committed to restoring dignity to survivors of sexual violence, has announced its first-ever Platinum Sponsors for the upcoming DigniTea 2025 fundraiser. Star One Credit Union and Signature Roofing have stepped up to lead the way in supporting this vital initiative aimed at helping victims regain their dignity and hope.
Scheduled for October 25, 2025, this event will not only raise funds but also increase awareness about the ongoing challenges faced by survivors of sexual violence across California. Marica Rendall, Vice President of the Board for TGGP and Co-Chair of DigniTea 2025, expressed her profound gratitude, saying, “We are deeply thankful to have both Star One and Signature Roofing take the lead as our first Platinum Sponsors. Their contributions help us ensure that survivors receive the essential clothing, comfort, and care they deserve.”
A Commitment to Community
Star One Credit Union, renowned for its commitment to community service, is dedicated to supporting organizations that enhance well-being, safety, and hope. Javier Ortega-Lopez, the Branch Manager at Star One, noted, “Our mission has always been to strengthen the communities we serve. By supporting The Grateful Garment Project, we make a meaningful difference in the lives of survivors, helping to restore their dignity and instill hope.”
On the other hand, Signature Roofing, a company known for its integrity and quality craftsmanship, extends its commitment beyond construction. William E. Cotter, the Owner of Signature Roofing, explained, “Our work is about protection—building roofs that keep families safe. Supporting The Grateful Garment Project allows us to continue this mission by helping survivors find safety and a sense of home once more.”
DigniTea 2025: A Gathering of Purpose
DigniTea 2025 is set to be an inspiring afternoon filled with tea, food, and a strong sense of community focused on supporting survivors of sexual violence and human trafficking. The theme for this year’s event, “GAME ON! Sideline Human Sexual Trafficking & Sexual Violence,” focuses on the need for collaborative action, particularly as the Bay Area approaches significant global sporting events, including Super Bowl LX and the FIFA World Cup in 2026. These events, while exciting, also present heightened risks of exploitation and trafficking.
Every ticket purchased, priced at $65, not only contributes to a vital cause but also helps TGGP provide essential items to survivors, including clothing, hygiene products, and care kits. These tangible resources play a crucial role in helping survivors reclaim their dignity and begin their healing journeys. Tickets can be obtained through the
DigniTea 2025 website.
The Grateful Garment Project's Mission
Founded in 2011, The Grateful Garment Project focuses on ensuring that no sexual violence survivor has to go home in a hospital gown. The organization provides immediate access to clean clothing, hygiene products, transportation, and various therapeutic items, fostering the long-term healing and prevention of future incidents through public awareness initiatives, community education, and safe, restorative spaces. Serving 45 counties and collaborating with nearly 100 agencies, TGGP holds a significant presence as a nonprofit organization dedicated to making a difference.
