The Nguyen Family Team, led by the talented Preston Nguyen, proudly clinched First Place, while the innovative duo of Chef Jonathan Scinto and Chef Ricky secured an impressive Second Place finish.

A Triumph for Chef Preston Nguyen



For Chef Preston Nguyen, winning first place was not just about individual achievement but also represented the culmination of years of teamwork and dedication from his family. He expressed his excitement, stating, "Winning first place again felt surreal and such a relief. The competition gets tougher every year, and to come out on top is both humbling and energizing."

A notable moment during the competition was when Preston turned to see his siblings cooking beside him. He recalled, "You could feel the love and pride of our little team. It was an incredible experience having my siblings by my side during an international competition."

Nguyen’s award-winning dish was a blend of technical precision and comforting flavors, creatively utilizing a challenging mystery ingredient—a Sam's Club Vanilla Berry Cake paired with pineapple spears. He shared, "The mystery ingredient was the toughest part, but we overcame it by communicating constantly and trusting each other's strengths."

Additionally, Nguyen attributed part of their success to ChefUniforms gear, which provided him with a competitive edge. Chef Jonathan Scinto’s Close Second



Chef Jonathan Scinto, a renowned innovator in "Itasian-fusion" cuisine, also delivered a stellar performance, finishing just shy of the top spot by a mere 0.6 points. He reflected, "It felt incredible to make it so far — but we came for that #1 spot. Missing first by less than a point? That stings. However, massive respect to every chef who competed, and huge congratulations to Chef Preston; he earned it."

A particularly impactful moment came when Scinto and Chef Ricky presented their final dish. With a mix of anticipation and excitement, Scinto described, "Everything clicked — we knew we had cooked something special. The room went silent when the judges approached, and we felt that shift in energy."

Scinto’s notable dishes, including his Long Island Surf Turf Roll and Peruvian-inspired Pineapple Ceviche Martini, expressed a rich narrative of his heritage and regional influences. He proudly stated, "My food tells the story of Queens, Long Island, and the melting pot that raised me."

Despite the bittersweet finish, Scinto emphasized his determination: "This isn't redemption; it's personal now. The title and that $150K are coming back to Long Island in 2026."
