The Home Depot Donates $250k to Support Youth Programs Ahead of World Cup in LA
The Home Depot's Commitment to Community Engagement
In a remarkable display of community support, The Home Depot has made a significant donation of $250,000 aimed at empowering youth in the Greater Los Angeles area. This initiative coincides with the kick-off of the U.S. Men’s National Team's journey in the FIFA World Cup 26™. With soccer fever taking over the city, The Home Depot’s contribution seeks to uplift and engage local youth through various programs.
The funds will be directed towards the Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA), which aim to provide opportunities for children and teenagers to thrive. Programs supported by this donation will include not only soccer initiatives but also workforce development and other essential community services tailored for young individuals across Southern California.
Allison Kolber, The Home Depot's Vice President of Integrated Marketing, expressed enthusiasm for the donation, stating, "With the eyes of the world on the U.S. Men's National Team, we are proud to invest in communities that give so much meaning to this sport. This donation aims to help youth in the Los Angeles area access opportunities, build connections, and be part of the excitement surrounding this historical moment for soccer in North America."
As a strategic partner of U.S. Soccer, The Home Depot is committed to fostering the continued growth of soccer in the United States. The initiative reflects a deep-rooted commitment to enhancing access and creating opportunities for the next generation of players, fans, and communities linked to the beautiful game.
"We take pride in partnering with incredible organizations like The Home Depot, who share our conviction that everyone, everywhere, should feel they have a place in soccer," said Lex Chalat, Executive Director of Soccer Forward Foundation, which is the social impact arm of U.S. Soccer. "By expanding the game and broadening access, we can ensure that the legacy of this historic moment reaches communities throughout the Greater Los Angeles area and inspires future generations in the years to come."
Adding to the excitement, Chad Hartman, National Vice President of Corporate Alliances and Engagement at BGCA, commented, "As excitement around the sport grows, this investment will help more youth benefit from sports activities within their communities. We are proud to collaborate with The Home Depot to expand access to soccer while also supporting workforce preparation and youth development initiatives that help young people gain confidence, acquire life skills, and reach their full potential."
Throughout the tournament, The Home Depot plans to showcase related content highlighting the donation and associated community initiative via the company's owned media channels and social platforms. Additionally, further programs are slated for this summer, aimed at enhancing youth engagement.
