Aon Appoints Andy Marcell as New CEO of Global Solutions to Enhance Integrated Capabilities
Aon Names Andy Marcell as CEO of Global Solutions
Aon plc, a prominent global professional services firm, has officially declared the appointment of Andy Marcell as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of its Global Solutions division. The announcement was made on June 2, 2025, and marks a significant leadership shift within the company.
In his new role, Marcell will oversee Aon's cohesive strategies that intertwine Risk Capital and Human Capital services, leveraging the firm’s expertise across its Reinsurance, Commercial Risk, Health, Wealth, and Talent teams. This restructuring aims to create a more integrated approach to addressing the multifaceted challenges that clients face in today's complex business environment.
Marcell's journey at Aon began in 2015. Prior to this appointment, he was the CEO of Risk Capital, where he successfully unified the firm’s Commercial Risk and Reinsurance solutions, showcasing a knack for steering the company towards a more integrated operational model. He will continue to serve as CEO of Reinsurance until John Neal steps into Aon on September 1, 2025, maintaining his reporting alignment with Greg Case, the President and CEO of Aon, while also being a member of the Aon Executive Committee.
Greg Case remarked, "One of our fundamental commitments is to build integrated capabilities that assist our clients in navigating risk and human resource challenges. Andy has played a pivotal role in refining our solutions and enhancing the alignment between our Risk Capital and Human Capital services. His continued leadership will be vital as we advance our strategy to operate as a single, unified entity at Aon."
Moreover, Aon recently introduced its Client Trends 2025 report, which delves into the interconnections amongst four major megatrends: Trade, Technology, Weather, and Workforce. These trends are identified as essential drivers of complexity and unpredictability within both business and societal frameworks. The insights from this report stress the importance of integrated data and analytics, which are crucial for addressing the amplified risks and people-related challenges that clients are currently facing.
Marcell expressed enthusiasm about bringing the Risk Capital and Human Capital teams closer together to deal with the unprecedented volatility and intricacy of market conditions. He emphasized that the objective is to deliver distinct data, insights, and capabilities that cater to the evolving needs of clients, facilitating a comprehensive understanding of the risks they confront.
As Marcell steps into his new role, he is set to present at Aon’s Investor Day on June 9, 2025. He will discuss the firm’s innovative and integrated approach to serving clients through the combined strengths of Risk Capital and Human Capital.
