California REALTORS® Initiative Awards $1 Million in Housing Assistance Grants for Wildfire Victims

In light of the recent wildfires that ravaged Southern California in January 2025, the CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® (C.A.R.) is stepping up to aid the affected homeowners and renters with significant financial backing from the REALTORS® Relief Foundation. This initiative will allocate a total of $1 million in housing assistance grants to those impacted by this disaster, offering much-needed support during a critical recovery phase.

The funding, part of a generous donation by the REALTORS® Relief Foundation, will allow eligible applicants to receive assistance in various forms, including mortgage relief, rental payments, and temporary housing solutions, such as hotel accommodations for those displaced from their homes. Each household can apply for assistance up to $1,000, helping to alleviate some of the financial burdens experienced due to the wildfires.

C.A.R. President Heather Ozur emphasized the importance of these grants during a challenging time, stating, "As residents begin the long process of starting over, the REALTOR® community is glad to be able to provide some immediate support in their time of need. We encourage impacted families to apply today and take the first step toward recovery." This sentiment reflects the commitment of REALTORS® to assist their communities, especially in light of the pre-existing housing crisis exacerbated by the fires.
