Spanish Government Delegation Visits Desay SV's Smart Factory in Linares
In a significant week for industrial advancements in southern Spain, Desay SV proudly hosted two delegations from the Spanish government at its innovative smart factory in Linares. These visits emphasize the strategic significance of Desay SV's projects in Andalusia, which play a vital role in the region's industrial revitalization and economic recovery.
On June 24, 2025, Juanma Moreno, president of Andalusia, visited the Santana Science and Technology Park to review the factory's progress. Moreno praised Desay SV for developing what he described as "the most powerful automotive touch screens," highlighting the company’s critical role in rebuilding the local automotive ecosystem. He noted that the Desay SV smart factory represents a major Chinese investment, aimed at creating a value chain that will fuel the region's economic growth. This project serves as a model for successful industrial revitalization, occurring 14 years after the closure of Santana Motor.
To bolster the automotive industrial hub in Andalusia, Moreno mentioned new support measures designed to provide additional regional incentives and administrative assistance for companies within the park, including Desay SV.
Just two days later, on June 26, Spanish Minister of Industry and Tourism, Jordi Hereu, visited the Desay SV site to reaffirm the central government's support. The Spanish government allocated €5.5 million to Desay SV as part of the PERTE VEC III initiative, focused on promoting sustainable transportation and industrial modernization. Hereu described the Desay SV project as a "strategic initiative" crucial for the transformation of Spain's automotive sector. He proclaimed, "After decades of deindustrialization in Europe, Spain and Andalusia are entering a new industrial era," while emphasizing the importance of collaboration with Chinese companies in driving future mobility innovations.
In the face of international instability, Desay SV is actively crafting a localization strategy, strengthening its presence in markets across Europe, Japan, and Southeast Asia while continuously enhancing regional service networks. The Spanish smart factory project is a key initiative for Desay SV, as the company aims to integrate itself into the global automotive supply chain by offering competitive and innovative products and highly efficient services.
This ambitious venture not only positions Desay SV as a leader in automotive technology but also signals a newfound commitment to revitalizing local economies, creating quality jobs, and establishing Linares as a hub for smart mobility and advanced manufacturing.
With operations set to reach full-scale production by 2026, Desay SV targets to produce 1.5 million automotive screens annually by 2028, supplying cutting-edge cabin and driving assistance technologies to a global clientele. The strategic industrial collaborations fostered during these visits mark a pivotal step towards enhancing Spain’s position in the global industrial landscape. As they move forward, both Desay SV and the regions surrounding their facilities stand to benefit greatly from the robust economic frameworks being established today.
