Kia America Achieves Historic Sales Milestone in October 2025 with Record Sales
Kia America has achieved a significant milestone in the automotive market by setting a new benchmark for October sales in 2025 with a total of 69,002 units delivered. This accomplishment marks the best October sales in the company's history and solidifies Kia's position as a leading player in the automotive industry, putting them on track for their third consecutive year of record annual sales.
Through retail transactions at Kia dealerships, sales have surged by 8% year-to-date compared to the previous year, leading to a grand total of 705,150 units sold in 2025 thus far. This trend underscores growing consumer confidence in Kia’s diverse model lineup, which continues to resonate with customers.
Notably, five models have demonstrated remarkable year-over-year growth: the Niro, up 75%; Carnival, up 35%; K5, up 31%; Seltos, up 32%; and Sportage, up 17%. The Carnival, Sportage, and K5 all set new sales records for October, showcasing the increasing popularity of these models. Additionally, Kia’s electrified offerings have seen a 16% increase in sales, exemplifying the shifting market trend toward eco-friendly vehicle options.
Eric Watson, Vice President of Sales Operations at Kia America, expressed optimism about the future, stating, "Despite numerous challenges in the automotive sector, Kia remains committed to long-term development. We are dedicated to providing our customers with high-value, diverse vehicle choices as we aim for yet another record-breaking year in sales. The upcoming debut of the second-generation Telluride SUV at the Los Angeles Auto Show is highly anticipated, and we look forward to sharing more with our customers."
The upcoming Telluride has not only attracted attention due to its design but also because of the accolades it has received since its launch. It was the first vehicle tailored specifically for the U.S. market by Kia and has won prestigious awards including World Car of the Year, North American Utility Vehicle of the Year, and served as a cornerstone for Kia's transformation in recent years. This underscores Kia’s growing reputation in the automotive space.
Alongside the excitement surrounding new releases, Kia also announced significant changes including the discontinuation of the iconic Kia Soul, a model that was pivotal in the company's design-led transformation. Known for its unique style and appeal to younger demographics, the Soul has been a significant player, selling over 1.5 million units since its debut in 2009. The final Soul vehicle is expected to be produced by the end of the 2025 model year, marking the end of an era for this beloved model.
In summary, Kia America’s record performance in October 2025 not only highlights the brand's current success but also sets an optimistic tone for the future. The anticipated introduction of new SUV models and the ongoing commitment to producing innovative and worthwhile vehicles signify Kia's strategy moving forward. As holiday sales approach, all eyes will be on how Kia continues to capitalize on its momentum and cater to an evolving customer base.
