The Collaboration Behind the Uniforms



This endeavor is a component of a larger project aimed at fostering a circular society in Yokohama, involving a partnership between the city and Article Co., Ltd. from Minato, Tokyo. Their goal is to enhance a decarbonized lifestyle through clothing recycling, thus epitomizing the essence of sustainability. The uniforms will feature materials sourced from clothing collected throughout Yokohama, showcasing a commitment to environmental responsibility.

In May 2021, MUJI entered into a comprehensive alliance with Yokohama City, targeting collaborative activities centered on disaster prevention and resource circulation. Engaging with Article Ltd, they have been exchanging vital information on circular economy initiatives at the community level.

Recycled Fashion for a Greener Future



The uniforms are made using regenerated polyester, derived from clothing collected within the city. This innovation represents a tangible outcome of efforts by both the city and Article Co., Ltd. to foster a resource-circulating urban environment, enabling citizens to actively contribute to sustainability through their participation.
